Even if this phone has its cons and whatnot, it's nice to see some kinda innovation since all the major companies do incremental upgrades at best and then push it out year after year. I've gone from Apple to Google to Oneplus and it's nice not having brand loyalty and seeing all the different things different phones can offer you.

I rock the Oneplus 7 Pro and it has the motorized popup selfie camera. I love it because I never take selfies and it has that added benefit of more security ya know? But yeah I heard it's kinda unsustainable as it costs more which is prolly why they haven't gone back to it. Love the full, uninterrupted screen experience tho

Yes actually and in a lot of cases they look better on the phone than they do on the console. Genshin Impact is one of the more dramatic ones where my phone vastly outperforms the PS4 version.

That's not true. The iPod Classic is arguably the best mp3 player of all time, hell it's probably one of the best pieces of music equipment ever built.

Also, the first iphone while flawed was still eons ahead of everyone else. There's a reason why the smartphone looks the way it does now, apple set the bar for that. And I hate Apple as much as the next guy, but to say they have had lackluster performance forever is a lie. I would say that since Jobs has died the quality of their products have dropped immensely, both performance and asthetic wise

He explains it in the video. The phone actually uses two batteries (one on both sides under the white back panels) so you're essentially diverting heat/power to both batteries instead of frying a single one. Plus the huge brick is most likely used to store a lot of that heat instead of having it go through the cords.

I have a oneplus 7 Pro and oneplus has been known lately to be one of the leaders in fast charging and they do the same thing. 2 batteries instead of one to prevent overheat/decay, but only one cord instead of the two used for the lenovo phone. Mine uses a 30w warp charger and it never gets hot when I use it during charging

My sister sent me a Galaxy A30 when she got a new phone, but I still like my old Moto G5 Plus. It's an LCD over the Galaxy's OLED, but it's withstood some incredibly gnarly falls that would have rendered the Galaxy unusable.

A part of it is how lightweight it is in comparison, but it's also got a plastic case around the sides and that to take the brunt of the impact. I've dropped it on all 4 corners to the point that the plastic case is cracked and chipping off in places, and the only crack on my screen is up the top, away from any of the actual usable phone screen. I've never used a screen protector and I've dropped it at least a dozen times - including on the pavement and on the road due to loose pockets. The screen is still completely intact.

And on top of that, there's this thing called Moto Gestures. I can bring up my camera by twisting my wrist twice, and I can turn on my torch by chopping twice.

Getting my Moto G5 Plus reminded me of getting one of those ZTE brick phones in the late 2000's. It's such a sturdy, ubiquitous device, and shit like the gestures make it legitimately fun to use. It's intuitive and user-friendly in a way that later phones by companies like Apple and Samsung just aren't.

And a part of me hates that I turn into a fucking Moto shill any time I talk about my G5 Plus - I understand the concept behind brand identity, I get that getting people to use buzzwords and personify their device is another insidious branch of marketing that furthers a corporation's bottom line. But I have nothing but nice things to say about this device. It's outdated as fuck, but it's an excellent piece of kit.
