Ridge Racer, Driver, OutRun - stylish driving games with their own distinct tone, great music and sound design, and a real sense of coolness and style. Even just listening to the soundtrack of an old racing game showcases a personality inherent to those titles that doesn't really exist in any modern racing games.

I understand that there was a shift towards like street racing and simulation games, where car tuning and car modification became the norm - but outside of like Forza Horizon, games like that don't exist any more either. I guess it just costs too much money to make a game like that today.

I miss racing games with music that goes hard, silly mechanics that you have to get used to like Ridge Racer's clunky drifting to get ahead in the game, and ambitious level design that's set in the real world - or a fictional real world location - and not in like outer space or a reality TV show where everything blows up. A new Burnout game would be fantastic though.

I miss stylish racing games.

It's odd that there are never any good motorcycle racing games with local multiplayer

Someone should revive Biker Mice from Mars
