Emergency Travel Order

In response to the changing dynamics of COVID-19 transmission across the United States, and to support Chicagos efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19, the City is issuing a Travel Order applicable to anyone coming into the City of Chicago from designated states with a significant degree of community-wide spread of COVID-19. Anyone traveling from a state on the Orange list is directed to obtain a negative COVID-19 test result no more than 72 hours prior to arrival in Chicago or quarantine for a 10-day period (or the duration of their time in Chicago, whichever is shorter). The Order is subject to the limited exemptions outlined in the Exemptions tab.

I was waiting for someone to point out that this is unenforceable. I kind of think it is drama. Just as Mayor Lightfoot announced that appointments at United Center are going to Chicagoans but FEMA vaccinates everyone with an appointment and the app the City chose to use protects the privacy of the client.

I suppose you could stake out hotels but the management is not going to be pleased.

how will they enforce this? will there be checkpoints at all roads leading in/out of the state and the airport?

On another note Chicagoans are now enforcing it by demanding of passersby "Do you have your vaccinations?"
