It's basically a type of new fangled chat/instant messanger site/app. Imagine a forever running topic with no post limits. We can also have separate channels(topics) for shit like music postings, Daily Dose videos, general chat, etc.

But the second we got outside hed realize cars and the sun exist simultaneously now and it would be a train wreck for him.

I'm up like $3500 in the last 48 hours, this shit is wild. If it hits a dollar I may jump ship, that would put me around 15k and that's a new car, or a good fishing boat or something lol. I don't think it will go much higher if it hits that point anyway.

I hadn't played an actual chess game myself in a few days, just been studying some stuff to improve my game. Found a channel that a chess grandmaster has where he plays games and explains all of his moves and the mindset that helps him decide how to play. I find I learn much better that way than the training programs that throw random positions at you and ask you what move to make. This channel actually goes into depth from the opening to the end and each game is different so you can start to recognize high level patterns starting from when a game first starts. I've been trying to take it all in and incorporate some of the stuff I learned into my own games to improve.

Decided to go into a game today after my hiatus, and I'll be damned if I didn't checkmate an opponent rated higher than me in 11 moves. Almost at 1600 now, it would be awesome if I could get to 1800 by the end of the year

Gossip girl is fuckin' amazing. She's not actually in it until the final episode, but she is the narration. And it's a fuckin' rad show. Every person in that show just wants to destroy everyone elses lives. It's great. I made fun of one of my best friends once like 10 years ago cause he recommend it and then I watched it and had to apologize. Then we started it over together lol.

Good enough for me. Id rather see her but her delivery is what really makes her special. right from the first ep of veronica Mars I was like damn she's a cut above.

Also I never watched that show during its initial run but during my first serious bout with diverticulitis I got the whole series for like 8 bucks when Roger's video or blockbuster closed and long story short she is the best.

Also I have a friend who is a few years older than me and is just kinda a... I dont know how to say it hes got a heart of gold but most people are scared of him kinda guy.

In so many ways he's like a stereotypical hardass drug dealer and former body builder who can seem like a real dick on the surface but also he was the guy who got me to watch firefly so I recommended veronica mars to him and he made fun of me... and then absolutely loved it.

Yeah it was a simple Italian game and he tried to do the fried liver but I know how to defend that. Once that was defended he didn't know what to do from there and kept moving the same pieces instead of developing and quickly lost. I find that a lot of players (including myself at times) try for something, and then when that doesn't work they crumble for the rest of the game. I recognized that flaw in my own game so I took some days off to try to learn how to continue playing soundly after things don't go your way. Obviously things went my way here but not so much for my opponent, but my defense has definitely beefened since my last game.

Best thing to do is jump into some games, then try to learn a new technique/principle, and just keep building. The thing I find that keeps people from picking up chess is fear of getting your ass kicked and how daunting it can be to find good moves throughout the whole game. If you're ok with losing at first and find joy in seeing improvement to ultimately being pretty competent, then I'd recommend just making a Lichess account (everything's free, open source, and user friendly unlike other chess sites) and jumping in.

I'm by no means a titled player or anything but I feel like I have a firm grasp on the principles if you'd like a few tips.

If you don't want to watch the whole playlist, I'd at least recommend video #11 talking about the element of time in chess (and by time he doesn't mean clocks, he means avoiding making wasteful moves that give your opponent a leg up).
