The World Ends With You
A Hat in Time

These would probably be the closest, but I don't think either are particularly obscure.

Nightbreed: The Interactive Movie for the Amiga

I would also say Hotel Dusk if that qualifies.

Don't know if they're "top 25" material, but high enough in my preferences that I go out of my way to praise them rather than waiting for them to come up in conversation.

Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt - The most recognition that it usually gets is "good for what it is", but I maintain that it is standalone good, period.

The Munchables - This game just straight up isn't known, but ever since I found it it is one of my top Wii games.

Digimon World
Oh man this game is such a huge mess and yet I like it anyway, played it as a kid (unsuccessfully) and went back to it last year after watching a streamer play it. It really needed refining in so many areas but the city recruitment stuff was so good!

I love a lot of indies but they're not really 'sleepers' these days, so hm... would Meteos count?

There are definitely some games mentioned here that are not sleeper titles at all, CTR being the best but far from only example of that. I believe my Jet Set Radio mention is in a grey zone, though its sequel which was mentioned, definitely qualifies.

428 Shibuya Scramble and Crosscode are probably up there. Legend of Heroes games are niche outside Board 8. Umineko could be anywhere.

Bucky O'Hare is just as good as Mega Man 2
Heroes 3 usually isnt in people's top 25, but should be
Sacrifice is a PC game that was marketed poorly as hell, but really good

edit: also love seeing Brigandine and Command and Conquer Renegade getting some love

Technically I think a sleeper is defined by not finding its popularity until long after release. A sleeper could be a cult hit or even a mainstream hit.

25 is a very small number. Without knowing a definitive top 25 and without naming every obscure game I like...I feel confident naming Bleed. Maybe the best game of its genre.

Custom Robo is my favorite game of all time, but I never really see anyone else talking about it

there are also several others in my top 25 already listed, but I dunno what the threshold for "sleeper title" is

for the purpose of this topic i just meant games that aren't very well-known or aren't recognized for their quality very much

i know that's not the same as a sleeper hit, but i couldn't find a better word for it when i made the topic

I guess Night in the Woods counts for this if Ghost Trick (more popular on B8) and Edith Finch (a bigger deal everywhere else) do. A Short Hike definitely counts, and Meteos is another great choice, though I'm not certain it'd be in my own top 25.

Cult classic, although it feels like that term isn't used much anymore.

nah that's not what I meant

cult classic to me means a game that found notable success, but only among a smaller or more niche group, and possibly well after it's initial release

i'd consider a game to qualify for this topic even if you are literally the only person in the world who likes it.
