Max health and Max attack?

or should you do max speed in there somewhere? Do you even need speed investment if youre gonna be running rock polish/agility?

252 HP/252 Atk is ideal for Meta, but not sure about Rhyperior tbh. Don't have a lot of experience with it.

Probably not honestly.

Im guessing the logic is max health in order to live the super effective attack? Especially if youre Rhyperior with a ton of 4x weaknesses?

Not sure why you'd ask here instead of either the Pokemon board or just checking Smogon >_>

https://www.smogon.com/dex/ss/pokemon/rhyperior/

Looks like HP and then either SpD or a mix of that and SPE (presumably so it'll be slightly faster than something meta-relevant?)

Coalossal is a better choice; have a teammate water jet it, and it will get +6 speed and +2 attack and special attack, letting it out speed just about anything and hit threats hard

I could get into that. My current gimmick either does amazing or falls apart instantly

That would be sick if I was any good at doubles

is that reliable in singles? Or will the opponent just predict the steam engine ability?

you should train your pokemon to have well-balanced and happy lives instead of maximizing their efficiency as killing machines

In singles you would want it to switch into a predicted water move. The problem is that your opponent is unlikely to have a weak water attack so you'll still get hurt bad.

In doubles you have coalossal dynamax and use a really weak attack on it that will basically tickle it but still activate policy

One gimmick I've been using lately is making a stupidly powerful passimian first turn. Start out with passimian and azumarill. Passimian dynamaxes. Azumarill uses misty explosion and KOs itself. Misty explosion does SE damage on passimian and gives a weakness policy boost. Passimian also steals huge power In the process doubling it's attack.

I then send out a togekiss with follow me so nothing can attack the passimian as it wreaks havok

I heard about this a few months ago, didnt this combo get abused like around Christmas time or something lol. How does Passimian steal huge power from Azumarril?

Also true on the Coalossal man, youll most likely just get wrecked if its a hydro pump or liquidation or worse - max geyser lol.

I think the only similar thing I used to do when I fucked around with doubles was send out a Dragapult (-Atk EVs, 0 Atk IVs, max speed) and Lucario. Use Beat Up on Lucario to max its attack from Justified and go ham.

Only problem is Lucarios move pool wasnt great, and speed wasnt anything special unless you had extreme speed or bullet punch

Passimians ability "receiver" lets it copy the ability of a fallen ally.

Another gimmick I've been using is soak shedinja. I start out with seaking and hydrageon. In have seaking use soak on hydra, but swap hydra to shedinja. This makes it pure water type so only grass and electric hurts it. But wait, seaking has lightning rod, so does my marowak, giving me electric immunity. But what about grass? Well I do mind games by dynamaxing seaking and killing grass types with max airstream. I also have ally switch to make the grass type hit the wrong pokemon. My battles often have alternations between protect and ally switch to make it so the opponent can't actually hit my teammates and I slowly kill them.

Sadly all the shadow rider calyrex and mold breakers shut me down hard

I'm regards to coalossal up above you could also soak on it after the crazy boosts to remove a ton of weakness
