I like the trend of them continuing to give me free PS5 games I had no intention of buying anyway so I can try them out

Days Gone is already free on PS5 since launch as part of that PS Plus Collection thing, but I guess if you only have a PS4 there you go

As a PS5 owner I feel robbed of a 3rd game :( Oh well

Feels like one of the worst months in awhile as a PS5 owner, but that's entirely dependent on being an Oddworld fan.

The first two Oddworld games are fantastic

I already got days gone for free so this is a bit of a dead month for me. Backlog still going strong though so no big deal

Days Gone is a really solid open world game but nothing groundbreaking. Like a good 7/10 time killer. The zombie hordes can be really intense at times and its cool how you gradually get strong enough to destroy them. Deeks kinda generic as far as protags go, but hes got enough going on to keep him interesting. Plots kinda predictable, but I never finished it so maybe it has some twists later on. Its also super obvious that they had to cut a bunch of content in flashbacks especially. There are weird jump cuts where there was obviously supposed to be a stealth or combat section or something and its just been gauged out.

They did add a bunch of challenges and stuff after I stopped playing though, so it might have improved since I played it.

For what it's worth, I started Days Gone and decided to drop it after a couple hours of gameplay. The open world environment graphically seems nice. But I can already tell the gameplay was just going to be more of the same similar missions and such against zombies or thugs.

Days Gone was surprisingly great in my opinion, the hordes were extreme stand-outs and I connected to the characters a good bit. I also just love riding around your motorcycle in a zombie apocalypse.
