*At the store*
These are a tad bit expensive, lemme check ebay...

*At ebay*
What? but that's even more expensive...and ITS USED!

No such thing as a cheap transformers it seems. Im not expecting them to be 5 bucks, but it seems like the non crappy, non miniature ones start at around 20. Im fine paying 30+ for the more premium ones, but there doesnt seem a more middle ground model for a reasonable (12-17) price.

End of boomer rant

Not really. He's 4 years old and playing pretend stories with his toys and wanted to get him more transformers (kinda indulging myself a lil bit as well XD). Just that the last one I bought was at marshalls and it was a pretty decent figure for 7 dollars...I knew already that was way cheaper than regular price, but then I go to a local toy store and they're selling the same line for $20.00. Its not so much about the money, but thinking that its overpriced, specially when for like 5,10 bucks more you can get a much nicer one, but not going that route since he's still little.

When I was a kid they were expensive then too.
The average ones were like $15
The large deluxe ones were like $70

Yeah, but they used to be much better quality than now. A regular one from back then is closer to the premium ones from today in level of details.

This. Transformers have always been in the $15-$30 range. The only difference now is they have even higher-end ranges and are more sought after, so once they're out of production the prices skyrocket.

If you're looking for a crappy figure you can give to your kid and not care about if he breaks it, check budget stores like Big Lots, Family Dollar, etc... They have an extreme low-end line that doesn't even have a marketing name on it.

IIRC figures in that line go for like $5-$10.

Toys have gone up in price since 2018.

I collect Transformers, and I'm in Canada. It hit us pretty hard. As an example, what we refer to as the Deluxe price point used to be $15-20, now it's $30. Voyager was $30 now $40, Leader was $50 now $80.

The cheapest figures right now are Legends/Core class. In the US they're on average $10. Where do you live? People in eastern US should always check out Ollie's for even cheaper toys. You'll find some huge discounts.

US Transformer Prices --- Canadian

Core - $10 --- $15
Deluxe - $20 --- $30
Voyager - $30 --- $40
Leader - $50 --- $80
Commander - $90 --- $120
Titan - $160 --- $240

Thanks for the info. Im in Puerto Rico which means US prices and sometimes a lil bit higher than "MSRP" (is those still exist) from smaller stores.

Heh this is true. I don't have one anywhere near me though. Most of my purchases are online these days, or whatever Hasbro sends me.

I hear there are new owners, and US stores could open yet again.

As your kid is four years old, Id recommend Rescue Bots Academy.
