Felt nostalgic and started looking around my home town. Went on street view and saw you could look at past pictures if the Google car had been through there before.

Saw they had been by in August 2011 and started hunting. Found my car and most of my friends cars either at our houses or jobs and found a few places we all used to hang out that arent there anymore.

Was a fun trip down memory lane and simultaneously kinda creepy that Google made this possible lol

Yeah, I've been very much enamored by Google Maps' street view. I remember when they were starting to send their cars into parking lots to map out paths for those. They drove by the company I was working for in early 2016 while we were standing outside.

Yeah I've done that before with houses I used to live in. I've never lived in the same home for more than 5 years.

Yeah I actually found my old house that way. I knew the city I lived in and school I went to. Wanted to take my wife to my old place in Arizona. It was actually kinda sad because when I was a kid you could see clear to the mountains from our balcony and wide open desert for miles. Now its all developed and they put a few golf courses in between. But progress

Yeah, the earliest has of my place is from late 2007, and I like to sometimes go look how it was back then.

It's a sleepytime ritual. Or for when I miss my abuela. There's an absurd amount of history buried in the architecture in jersey urbania.

I actually remember the day very clearly now.

Earlier I found my car parked in the street by my house. I looked around again and decided to look by my job and my other car was there.

The car at home was my new to me car and overheated that morning so I parked it and took my first car, which was a family hand me down, to work.

It was hot as fuck that day. The car I was in had no working AC, the windows didnt work, and it was a black car. I was sweaty as hell.

But I remember picking up a new radiator with my friend after work and us working on the car, then when it was fixed we all went downtown and discovered an underground sex shop lmao

Theres also the historical satellite images on the desktop version of Google Earth. Can see a blurry version of my town from like 1980 lol

I mean a really long time ago. Google street view is a relatively recent thing. Also a lot of places dont have an archive unfortunately

Yep.

I usually look at my house, see out transformation, and locations in Mexico where out property is. A popular Mcdonalds is now abandoned with graffiti all over it hahahaha.
