Aren't there any options near you where the restaurant itself delivers without having to go through an app like Door Dash? It seems like it's more expensive using those app services, it's not available here, neither is Grub Hub so i've never used them personally. I have read a lot of negative things about both on CE and other places online.

Other than pizza places, no. I had asked my husband to pick up food for me but hes in back to back meetings all afternoon for work. We get dash pass for free through a deal with chase so its the only reason I use it over other services. But its the absolute worst. Shit like this happens constantly.

I hate feeling helpless more than anything. Theres nothing to eat at home, I cant get up without wanting to scream in pain, cant even get shit delivered. Just sitting here not able to do anything is just the worst feeling.

Yeah I meant actual food. Just snacked on some cookies but considering all I had was some yogurt this morning and its 3pm I was hoping for something with more substance.

Sometimes they canceled it if the order wasn't picked up within an hour.

How much were you planning to tip? Dashers can see bigger tips in advance and sometimes that influences their decision to pick up orders faster

It was a good tip. The dasher was waiting there. It was taking a very long time though so I texted him to ask if everything was ok. Then I suddenly got a cancel notification. I called and was told another driver accidentally picked up my order to deliver to another customer. So someone else is enjoying my burger.

I would but I get dashpass for free. No delivery fees plus a discount on the other fees adds up to a lot.

Theres nothing to eat at home

:(. one of the places i ordered from the past 3 times have trouble finding the house. it's a dice roll if the food is cold and having to wait 45 mins to an hour for a burger and fries.

Yeah they gave me $10 credit on top of the refund but I didnt order anything else. Just too hungry to wait so I snacked on crap food. When my husband is done with work Ill see if hed pick up food for me.

that happened to me a week or two ago. someone actually called me and asked about modifying the order for a replacement of something and then 15 mins later they just cancelled it altogether. it was like another 15 mins before i actually noticed that it had happened (they sent a text but i just missed the notification)

It helps move the blame off the restaurant when something is wrong. Instead of dealing with the restaurant now the end user has to deal with Door dash.

I find DoorDash to be the worst of the three major deliver apps tbh

Grubhub and Uber Eats give me several deals that actually make using the apps less expensive than ordering normally from a restaurant.

Doordash NEVER gives me deals, and I even have Dashpass (which I got for free from a credit card) wtf?

That happened to me before, I was so mad.

I ordered Applebees (don't laugh at me guys, I wanted ribs and they were basically it), like an hour before it closes, which is enough time imo. Basically, it got canceled like 9:40-9:50 and at that point, it was too late to get something from another place.

I do get deals with Doordash. I wonder if its location based? I have the same deal through our credit card. As soon as its up Im switching platforms. Ive had this happen so many times. Just a few weeks ago we got a completely different persons order. Its like they dont verifying the name on the bag.

Omg thats infuriating. Ive had the same crap happen with a late order too. Its the worst when you cant get anything else.

I wonder if its location based though. My girlfriend is in a bigger foodie area and never has the issues I have. Im further away from most restaurants.

Then if the order doesn't get canceled we have to remake it when the driver finally shows up because it's cold. It's gotten to the point where the owner calls doordash and makes them reimburse him when orders get canceled or customers demand refunds because their food was cold.

So strange. Why do they attempt and then cancel?

What made me confused is the app kept saying the driver was waiting for my food for a long time. It wasnt until I tried texting him that the order was canceled. Im guessing he forgot to do it in the app but it just made me angry because by then it had been an hour since I had placed the order and maybe 30 minutes since he had supposedly been at the restaurant.
