C. After all the horror stories I've heard about people's free time plummeting after marriage, it'd have to be a hell of woman for me to want to get married.

Any married people here that managed to get the best of both worlds?

C. My partner and I just don't see the point. We are both non-religious so that is out the window, so its just another government contract that locks us together and makes things complicated finance wise. No thx. We love each other, no need to prove it to others.

Marriage is not popular anymore because of high divorce rates and sexist courts. You can NOT argue the fact that courts are extremely biased against husbands and fathers. Almost 100% of the time, theyre the party forced to pay alimony (half of what they earn) and courts give custody to women over men, even when they ask for 50:50 custody.

Why would I want to get married when theres almost a guarantee that the relationship would end and I would get stuck paying for a kid that I saw once every other weekend?

I've been married and happy for over 17 years. She likes a lot of the same stuff I like, we both play video games, we both have an Xbox and Switch, and we know how to do our own thing when we feel like it without guilt going either way. I feel like that's the basis of a good relationship, is not trying to spend every minute together until you drive each other nuts and start to fight. When a new game comes out like Red Dead 2, or Fallout 4, she's basically like, okay i'm buying a new game and gonna get a few books on my Kindle. It goes both ways also, if she's hooked on a book, i'm fine with her reading for a few days and doing my own thing.

I feel like a lot of the horror stories are from people who rushed into relationships and figured out after the fact that they aren't really great for each other when they really spent the time to get to know one another.

Happily married. I dont know what you mean by no free time (though that will change when our baby is here for a while). We both have a lot of similar hobbies but we also have our own time for ourselves. Im currently watching dumb reality TV downstairs and hes upstairs watching some sci-fi show. We both make about the same income and are fairly independent people.
