Every major movie was delayed for covid, they need something people are familiar with to get people to watch so academy voters can continue to pick winners based on who bribes them the best. --- If you do things right, people won't be sure that you have done anything at all. It was a really weak year for Best Supporting Actress roles and she's the perfect recipe for a nominee. Breakthrough/fantastic/hilarious performance by a complete unknown that the Academy can recognize. Only thing is she was a co-lead so it's a bit of category fraud.
