I"d like to claim this sums up the acuity of the diehard DCEU fans. Completely oblivious to character drama and interpersonal conflict. Probably rate Transformers films as grade A entertainment. But that doesn't explain how Marvel films still have better action than the DCEU anyway.

Really? Marvel has some of the worst action ever you mean. Only good action I saw is the martial arts from Winter Soldier and the Russos taking over from there.

I'm sure your favourite scenes were the totally obligatory female teamup feature in Infinity War and Endgame

I can tell you watch too much of "TheQuartering" lol. Somebody tells you they like Avengers Civil War so they must be a... feminist, or something. Never mind that women basically don't exist in Civil War beyond Scarlett Witch

The movie comes out today so unless you watched it at midnight and barely got any sleep, I guess you must've gotten up bright and early at 8 AM, sat through the 4 hours, stretched and got back at 2pm to make this topic? Nobody here's gonna know what's in Snyder's cut yet. Everybody knows 'Justice League' as that film Joss Whedon tried to salvage.

In terms of your understanding of Civil War... I really don't know where to begin. For one thing,

This isn't a script. This isn't a movie. This is the synopsis of a mediocre videogame that didn't pay for writers. You're describing a scenario. A story is a change in character. Why is going after Zemo with Bucky a conflict? Because the new superhero oversight laws, that Iron Man supports, prevents them from acting without oversight.

Which could be completely removed from the movie and make no difference to the core story. Remove the law portion, you won't have Iron Man and the rest of the Avengers needlessly appearing in the movie too.

If you call this good-scriptwriting I dont know what to say to you.

This is what's called bloating a script.

Also keep in mind again, the movie was intended as a solo Captain America movie. Unless you wanna debate this?

I never said that. I just dont like forced scenes like those. And if you don't either, you shouldnt be calling Avengers action as good.

It IS the core story. You know it's based on a comic book right? Without the ideological division between Tony and Steve, there's no conflict in the movie beyond beating up a generic bad guy.

I also think the 'women assembled' shot was lame because Disney didn't earn it, throughout the MCU they shortchanged their women.

A franchise is not only as good as its silliest scene, or else we should've thrown out all of MCU with that Age of Ultron robo-cgi-fest.

I absolutely do not like Synders take on superheroes. Like on a very fundamental level I disagree with his vision and no amount of reshoots will change that.

I have no interest in seeing Superman become murder-man or seeing Injustice on the big screen. Its the same problem I have with the Flashpoint cartoon where Wonder Woman becomes a murdering psychopath because a few events change. I dont subscribe to the belief that all superheroes are one step away from being monsters. Because it was never their powers that made them super. Barry Allen is always going to be a hero regardless of how fast he can run. And Superman isnt going to become a murdering monster who kills his friends just because Lois died.

The whole point of Justice League is for the superheroes to team up, no?

Now what's the whole point of Captain America 3 again when Captain America is hardly the main character in it and you have his villians completely sidelined?

that's your personal take but this is Snyder's take. If you're going to judge a movie, judge it by how it was intended to be and how well it got executed.

At least that's how I see reviewing movies as. I never got the irrationality behind some critics hating a movie simply for its very premise. If that's the case you shouldnt even be watching the movie since you'll hate it no matter what.

I don't like Bendis' Miles Morales Spiderman for example. Does that mean I should hate Into the Spiderverse movie simply and just because Morales is the main character in it?

It didn't fix much, it was still a mediocre movie. It was at least better than Batman V Superman.

What made the original movie bad in the first place?

Uninteresting and underdeveloped characters, including an incredibly forgettable villain.

Large portions of the movie straight up look like shit.

That dumb mini-story about some random family no one cares about.

Oh? Sounds like every Marvel movie until Avengers Infinity War. (Loki was good too in A1)

Oh yeah, the characters were so uniteresing and underdeveloped which is why people in the theaters were losing their minds when most of the main characters were dying in the end of Infinity War. You will never get that kind of reaction from a DCEU movie.

Thank you.

Avengers 1 was indeed ass s***. I never liked Joss Whedon films but critics love it so audiences were made to love that crap too.

Even Captain America's utterly horrid cosplay-looking suit. Wonder why no one was talking about that

They do talk about that - in the movie.

Imagine caring this much about a fucking Batman movie.

Although even TC doesn't seem to give a shit about JL. He keeps on bashing a completely unrelated film, yet he's unable to state a single reason why JL itself is good.
