Would you have supported a death penalty against this freak?

22 y/o Bald Master, Brandon Clark from New York who slit the throat of popular 17 y/o E-Girl Bianca Devins was sentenced to 25 years to life in the big house!!

He plead guilty to the gruesome murder of Devins who was known to her 170,000 instagram followers as an e-girl who posted emo fashion and video games

She was murdered in 2019 when they returned from Utica after a concert in NYC when he went beserk and slit her throat and then posted pictures of her dead body on instagram and discord with the caption "I'm sorry Bianca"

The gory photos were widely shared online and remained up for almost a day as instagram was highly criticized for not removing it

Police were trying to find her when Clark called 911 himself confessing to the murder and said "My name is Brandon, the victim is Bianca Michelle Devins, i'm not going to stay on the phone for long because i still need to do the suicide part of the murder-suicide"

He attempted to cut his throat and then took the selfie with her body before police arried and stopped him

He was in a jealous rage when he saw her kiss another man as the 2 were supposedly only friends and not romantically involved. They had just met on instagram 2 months prior

He plead guilty to second degree murder before trying to withdraw the plea claiming he wasn't given legal representation

The murder shocked the gaming community as thousands of her followers had no idea about her relationship with clark but some of her fans noticed the odd messages he had been posting about her prior to the murder

Would you have supported a death penalty against this freak?

I support the death penalty because the prison system is already overcrowded and there's people in there who deserve the death penalty.

There are also people who are routinely executed in the US with a large amount of uncertainty of whether or not they should have actually been convicted or sometimes even after the they are put to death DNA evidence shows that evidence used against them does not belong to them. It has happened many times.

This man was killed in Georgia even though there was no physical evidence that he committed the crime and many of the trials witnesses recanted their testimony saying that they were coerced by police to make false testimony.

https://english.ahram.org.eg/NewsContent/2/0/22058/World/0/Georgia-executes-Troy-Davis-in-highprofile-US-case.aspx

Prison overpopulation is a serious issue but by far the best remedy is to stop the privatization of prisons in this country and to end the fifty year long, failed war on drugs, which itself is rooted to this day in a campaign of misinformation, cruelty, and corruption. Those things have done more damage to our society than any actual conflict this country has been involved in.

No, because that's insane.

He's 22. I'm sure he can be rehabbed in 20 years or so and go on to be a productive member of society.

No on so many levels. First, 25 to life would be an insanely long prison term for kidnapping... and it's that kind of over-sentencing -- which is far worse than even repressive, authoritarian regimes -- that's led to the US's mass incarceration system. Second, it's 25 to life. Because of the loony way the US runs its prisons, he potentially won't get out at all. However, he'll be eligible for release by then, and possibly eligible for parole before it.

I'd prefer to guy to spend the rest of his life suffering. I mean once you die that's it. Still if I don't appeal to my more sadistic nature then yes I'd support the death penalty here.

Edit: That girl was cute too.

This is how I feel. If someone did something truly horrible, the worst punishment in my opinion is to make them live with it, with as few distractions as possible.

Maybe make them go outside and eat some dirt every now and then.

You know what makes more sense than the death penalty for addressing prison overpopulation?

Decriminalizing/adjusting the penalties on a raft of lower-level offenses; legalizing, regulating, and taxing drugs and prostitution; building a network/program for treating addiction and rehabilitating addicts instead of locking them up; doing away with for-profit private prisons; overall prison reform...

Death penalty is immoral. We don't live in an "eye for an eye" society, and we should not aspire to.

There are people who commit crimes that feel no remorse or guilt about what they've done; that live in denial and will never be humbled, no matter whether they live or die. In their mind their actions were justified; so what to do with those people?
