Titan is great even if his OG fight is outdated by now. He's basically the mascot for Primals at this point - think he appears in more fights than any other enemy in the game.

It's certainly my fave of the ARR, but yeah it's just that it's outdated. Turn your brain off the entire time.

It's great. Titan is a trial by fire for slacking newbie players that teaches them that some mechanics and AoEs are ones they really can't afford to fail. It's frustrating as hell but teaches you about the game through lessons of pain, and that gives it a unique identity that almost no other boss fights have. Plus it's by very the most cinematic of the ARR bosses which helped it stand out at the time. There's a reason Titan the final fight of the first Eden tier - he's left a big mark on the playerbase.

I actually liked the E4 version, but Titan classic... there's a reason I never bothered even trying Unreal...! (And of course, Leviathan has the same mechanic ughhhh)

Honestly forgot Shiva was released at the tail end of ARR. Yeah she's a more cinematic fight (and also one that left a huge mark on the playerbase, which is why she bookended Eden tier two).

It's funny how polarising ARR Shiva is among the fanbase. It's fairly well regarded by casuals and non-hardcore players, but Shiva EX consistently ranks among the worst fights in the game for hardcore players!

You're understating this. Shiva is easily one of the most popular fights in the game for casual players - it's often cited as the fight that made people realize FF14 gameplay could be hype.

Shiva fight was really cool, but I was in the "Heavensward Rush" mindset so I don't think I appreciated it as much.

Also Im a casual in that I am still working my way through the MSQ, so I would say Tsukuyomi #1 for me with Nidhogg high up and Shiva top in nostalgia, but I have a great fondness for Lakshmi, though it is possible that that is more fue to how tense my experience with it was...

Susano is awesome but I honestly don't know how much casuals like him. His theme song not being as memorable hurts.

Tsukuyomi is my #1 as well.

Susano...I mean it's all about that specific moment which is an all time great for Trials, but every other aspect of the fight is forgettable.

I've gotten The Vault for leveling roulette 3 times in the last 4 days.

Nidhogg is still my favorite and is one of my top 5 boss battles of all time. Everything was just... perfect the first time you face him.

Nowadays, I like Susano and Tsukuyomi a ton but I get irritated that people still don't know how to to basic stuff during them. Whenever I get Tsuku I just put a triangle over my head and say "follow the triangle if you want to live."

I got six comms that way once.

Alliance opinions after running all of them in a row order for shits.

Crystal Tower is basic as fuck but it's mega turn your brain off and feels good to play. If it was actually still hard probably wouldn't like it all that much.

Void Arc is a big step up in gameplay, but aesthetically it's just not my thing at all. I do not actually care about this set, lacks impact. Ozma fucking rules though.

Ivalice is the king, this ain't even close. It's actually even better than I remember. The entire thing is hype as fuck and there is no bad part of it in the raida themselves.

Yorha....peaked with the first one aesthetically. It's all super on brand but in the context of THIS game that brand just isn't landing as much. Tower suffers the most from this, like yeah its cool reference wise but no amount of "appropriateness" can really make up for how nothing this is overall visually. Definitely get why people were complaining before. Still, can't help but feel a bit of a soft spot for it, except Puppet Bunker which I don't really like at all.

Yeah the Nier raids really weren't what people wanted out of them quality wise. The raids in terms of gameplay and aesthetic are 'fine', but when combined with the plot which was just super 'whatever' it just kind of stinks of wasted potential.

It's a shame, cuz it really SHOULD have been cool.

I havent done the last nier raid but I already like the series way more than ivalice. Ivalices story was so boring its the only time I skipped scenes

Gotta say I think I enjoyed Ivalice's story more than Nier's!

Neither were good though.

If we're talking the actual storyline outside of the raids then that's a different ballgame. Every Alliance raid's story is terrible except for Crystal Tower which is saved by Nero. I'm legitimate impressed by the disconnect there for all of them, it takes effort to make them this uninteresting. Ivalice stands out as the worst though because it's both boring and offensive to the source material. Yorha's honestly isn't THAT bad, but it's sitting side by side with Werlyt which absolutely embarrases it.

Finally got around to trying ocean fishing and got the mount on my first try (just using the bait people shouted to use and double hooking on spectral currents, but otherwise having no idea what I was doing)
