Yeah it was actually comical how often WW used to be tied up by her own lasso which somehow took away all her powers. You'd think she'd stop bringing it.

I honestly think it was just a more simple time. People seeing it as BDSM is a modern interpretation.
I'm pretty sure there was a movie made about the creator's kinky three way relationship with the woman he based Wonder Woman on fairly recently.

Artists for comics and cartoons always tended towards perversion, it's the rest of the world catching up and realizing that the guy was into BDSM. The common person didn't really know what that was back in the day. Now, there's the internet.

This reminds me of that wwe writer who pitched a gimmick to vince mcmahon in 2004 where heidenreich would have been a nazi that was woken up from a frozen slumber. He told vince heidenreich would have goose stepped to the ring for his entrance.

Vince just got up and walked away from the room without saying anything.

What the fuck is wrong with this dude.
Miller's writes intentionally offensive stuff, everyone's known that for years.

What the fuck is wrong with the DC execs who actually considered printing it, is my question.

@cjsdowg

It's Mark Millar. He's a famous comic book writer who is known for producing very shocking stories. For example, he wrote Marvel's Civil War comic (which was controversial when it released) and Wolverine: Old Man Logan and DC's Superman: Red Son (which was controversial). However, that stuff is tame compared his own creator owned stuff for Image comics like Kick-Ass (which was made into two movies), Kingsman (also made into two movies with an upcoming third movie), Wanted (also made into a movie) and then there is Nemesis (which even Image comics didn't want to publish). Nemesis is arguably his most fucked up comic (basically an evil and very fucked up version of Batman in a white costume, that's Nemesis). I'm not sure that one can even be made into a movie due to how fucked up it is. Finally, he has a daughter who is a young adult early 20 something and is a comic book artist and her stuff is arguably more fucked up than his stuff (she likes to draw evil nuns who get naked and lots of blood and violence is involved). She is actually really innocent looking, despite her work. LOL.

FWIW, Marston's granddaughter claimed the movie was a crock of shit, in that his wife and 'the other woman' were never in a sexual relationship themselves.

Lmao what?
IIRC that was Old Man Logan which was supposed to be entirely about a fucked up future timeline where everything went wrong and (nearly) all the heroes died, leaving only a miserable wasteland of edginess remaining

Yeah. America was ruled by supervillains. Logan lived on the west coast which was ruled by Hulk and his hulk kids. I think it was implied Banner went insane due to long term exposure to gamma radiation. He mated with his cousin because she was the only one that could survive breeding with him. Presumably it was rape.

Let us never forget the tale of Black Bomber.

The original candidate for DC Comics' first headlining black superhero was a character called the Black Bomber, a white racist who would turn into a black superhero under stress.[3][4] Comics historian Don Markstein later described the character as "an insult to practically everybody with any point of view at all".[5] When the editor who had approved the Black Bomber left the company before the character had seen print, Tony Isabella (whose previous writing experience included Luke Cage, a black Marvel Comics superhero with his own title) was asked to salvage the character. Isabella convinced editors to instead use his Black Lightning character, which he had been developing for some time.[6]

Rape fetishism is the worst. It's a pity it was able to slip under the radar for so long under the guise of being "edgy" writing.
