My favorite moment is when Gandalf the white exorcises saruman out of theoden, that was pretty cool

I don't like mindless army battles in shows and movies, it's hard to get invested when it's just a bunch of unknown faceless people smashing into each other. I prefer one-on-one type fights exclusively.

I always think about myself having a mini gun on Helm's Deep and saving them all before Gandalf arrives with all those pony riders

Damn, I remember some people were like really upset over this movie back in the day. Stuff like the Elves at Helms Deep and how Faramir was handled and all the Arwen stuff really upset them.

Like, to the point of referring to Peter Jackson as Morgoth

I think my favorite part of the movie though would be the Ents trashing Isengard.

I'd like to know what all those are. The only thing I know throughout the years is that apparently there were no elves at helms deep and it was only a movie thing. Which admittedly I get now because as I'm watching it's like "wait did anyone even call for the elves how did they know to come to helms, and why didn't they appear before if they hadn't left the western shore?"

Especially the farmamir part. Can we talk about the fact that it's really obvious which parts are the extended scenes in the extended editions? There's a part where faramir captures frodo and sam and then it's just a juxtaposition of a past scene where faramir and boromir are celebrating together and denethor comes in to ruin the party. It's so jarring.

Also is faramir stronger than boromir to resist keeping the ring and letting frodo and sam go? That was oddly nice of him to do so

This movie reminding me that it's probably the reason for all those 2000s villains with split personality thing ie the whole Gollum and Smeagol thing.

Let's see we have Spiderman doing it with Green Goblin and Norman Osborn. We have Spiderman again with Spiderman 2 doing it with Doc Ock and the arms. What else?

Yeah I'm pretty sure the point of that was to show that Faramir wasn't the weak useless shitheel that his father thought he was

Well I mean we know that, even before him doing the nice thing, it's just weird because that kind of restraint requires elflike blood like with aragorn, but faramir is a regular man
