the sequel trilogy confirmed that the Jedi never returned, and that Luke was the last one
>_>

of course, the original title was REVENGE of the Jedi but was deemed too badass and was later used for the Sith instead

The title was only referencing Luke. If it was about the Jedi in general it would have been titled "Return of the Jedis"

---
I have no idea whether or not he's a racist, but apparently there are recordings of him using racial slurs so it's a distinct possibility.

Jedi is both singular and plural. So by Luke becoming a Jedi they did indeed return. Also the title could be interpreted another way. Luke Returns as a Jedi to confront Vader not the return of the entire sect.

It was clearly referring to Vader.

Then the original title wouldn't make sense. Who was Vader getting revenge against? Himself?

The title was literally changed because they thought Luke should not be seeking revenge. It applies to Luke and only Luke.

If I remember the story right, wasnt it Return then changed to Revenge because the suits thought Return was a weak title, and then later changed back to Return?

The entire original trilogy was a big fat lie.

-Anakin wasn't the chosen one, never killed Palps.
-Luke and the Rebels never defeated the Empire, they came right back, even stronger than ever.
-The Jedi never "returned", Palpatine put an end to that right away, simultaneously shutting down Luke's training academy (killing or turning all the students) and defeating Luke so badly that he left the galaxy entirely to go into exile and totally giving up on the Jedi order.

But the Jedi did return, for a couple of decades at least.

Id say it refers more to Anakin and his return, but could also be applied to Luke as well. Whats great about the title is it has multiple meanings depending on how you see it.

It actually refers to Luke filing his taxes. Though it could also refer to Anakin Skywalker doing the same, after years of commiting tax fraud under an assumed name. Of course, as we know from the sequel trilogy, the back taxes he owed will continue to haunt the Galaxy...

This is incorrect. Rey summoned him (along with all the other Jedi spirits) and even used Anakin's own lightsaber to deflect Palps' lightning and kill him in Episode 9. Anakin alone didn't kill Palps, but he was still part of the action that ultimately led to his demise, which still fulfills the prophecy IMO.

Just deem the shitfest that is the ST non canon like most people and nothing poisons or perverts the 6 movies.

ROTS brought the story full circle, the disney fanfiction does not matter.

Remember when the Last Jedi was coming out and the spanish title had "Jedi" as plural? So people were speculating like crazy about how many Jedi we were going to see.

What was it for Return of the Jedi?

Sounds like it's more of a "fan"-fiction for the "fans" to deem the ST as non-canon just because they don't like it

@DavidZ2844
When people online can, and have written better stories then the ST it is that much more of a fuck you to fans. The EU that gave a great post ROTJ story was more thought out then the story of the ST.

Seeing all the heroes be fucking failures who compete to see who can make the worst choices is not good writing.

Because there's only one return and it ain't of the Jedi, it's of the King.

But seriously yeah, the ST lessened the accomplishments of the original. No Jedi. New Republic goes to crap. Empire still around. etc.
