I've watched both but watching the remix... It's well edited but it's clearly meant to be watched while edited differently.

The edit flows ten times better, but the humor is better episodic I think... I mean episode 6 of the remix and we're getting episode 1 material episodes... Which do you prefer?

Like I been waiting 6 episodes to get the Michael breakdown... the realization that he is finally as corrupted as the rest and has completely gone off reservation which is sort of the theme for season 3...

I prefer it as a show but I think we're missing beats in terms of comedy.

I dont think I can sit through season 4 again long enough to see what the remix has to offer. But isn't it the exact same just reordered? I mean its not like they added scenes or anything did they?

IIRC they actually did get some reshoots. Nothing substantial though.

Either way, I wouldn't bother at all tbh. They were clearly trying to develop a "Choose-your-own-adventure" type of story, which would have been awesome, but sadly they were just a bit too ahead of the times.

Also if there are reshoots it does sound interesting but just not enough to rewatch, maybe if more time passes

I think the remix is generally slightly better, but the jokes that fall completely flat because of the new editing, they can just throw off a whole episode.

There definitely weren't enough to make it worth rewatching.

As for the CYOA piece -- I remember reading there was an attempt to make it where you could click within the episode and jump around from episode to episode

So for example, immediately following the boat crash, you'll have the scene with Lucille and Buster talking to the authorities. You see Tobias do a spin in the background talking to Lindsay (where he's singing that weird song like "it's just a fallacYYYYYY") -- that was definitely meant to be an indicator for something you could click into, and it would take you from the Lucille/Buster scene over to the Tobias/Lindsay scene.

The foundation was definitely there, but I think Netflix just didn't have the technology yet.

So previously each episode was focused on one character? In the remix it's more like two?

The remix is a bit of everyone to make it feel like the old show; they hardly ever had the cast assembled together in season 4 because of other commitments.

I wish they gave the OPTION of season 4, I remembered liking it even if I miseed the old format

Ahh interesting. Honestly it's still kinda obvious that's the case. It still doesn't seem right.

But damn did the original season go back to scenes and recap constantly even more than the remix? It happens all the time lol

The original is still an option. It's buried in the trailers and extras section so no one will find it.
