Mine would be when Friday the 13th came out. I met four new people and we would get on every night to play for about five or six months. The game itself wasn't the best due to glitches and bugs but the friendship and camaraderie made it all worth while. The concept of the game was also really good, and I never felt so many heart-pounding moments then when playing that game and Jason was knocking down the door and at the last moment my buddy comes with a baseball bat to save the day

Still play F13th with a group of friends from time to time

Used to speed run Super Metroid. Never got close to the world record. I've done time trials in a few games. Held the record in a couple levels in Bionic Commando: Rearmed.

Outside of a handful of games, I don't typically play to beat time

staying up til sun rise playing halo 2 online with my homies in 7th grade

Either playing with friends in Tera or taking 12 hour turns with my best friend playing whatever for a whole summer. I think mostly tales and final fantasy games during that time.

If we go single player, maybe beating owl 2 in my sekiro challenge run. Such a fun fight and the challenge I did was a bit much by that point in the game (no upgrades of any kind, didn't even get mikiri) so I was at it for like 12 hours before I won.
