...is that sometimes both my girlfriend and I have to work from home at the same time. We live in a loft that has an open floor plan so there is absolutely no privacy. She's a special education teacher and I'm a counselor. I need complete privacy because of confidentiality so I'll probably have to be in my car for the next 3 hours on Zoom with my clients. I really wish I had my own office space...

How effective are noise canceling headphones for you two?

I've thought about it but I don't feel comfortable having my girlfriend around at all while I'm giving therapy. I'm just very protective with confidentiality and I also feel like I'd partly be distracted.

Damnit. Just realized I left my coffee in the apartment. Lol

I guess if the weather was better one of you could just go outside (although it'd have to be her, for confidentiality. However, it's a bit cold for that.

Otherwise your other option would be to set up shop in the bathroom, unless that's also open >_>

idk, I could never go with a loft. It'd be weird for guests to see your bedroom.

Yeah, I've considered those options as well. The bathroom feels a bit too weird for me to be doing therapy. Haha. Outside would actually be nice in our patio area but the problem is that it is adjacent to our neighbors and I can't guarantee people wouldn't walk by. I mean, I guess it wouldn't be too bad if I wore headphones like shadow suggested but I don't even like the idea of people hearing what I'm saying either. I'd rather air on the side of extreme caution for confidentiality. That's what I'd hope a counselor would do for me. At least in my car, I'm in a carport and my windows are rolled up. It's just a pain, ya know?

Edit: oh renting an office space would be nice, but im currently just interning and wouldn't really want to spend money on it.

Also, I don't really mind people seeing my bedroom as long as it's clean. I definitely have to be okay with it because the bathroom is upstairs right next to it. Haha. It's worth it though because I really like the loft we live in. I think you've commented on it when I posted a pic of my living room in another topic. It's pretty nice.
