never owned a saturn. are there even any good games on it?

nice, those are the ones i want to try, and datona usa. i could pick up a saturn for $60 (console nly, no cords or games) but not totally sure tbh. the lineup seems weak.

Got one in 2014. I have nights, burning rangers, virtua fighter 2, virtua cop and panzer dragoon 2. Since i got it so late i never really enjoyed it; no emotional attachment or anything

I wish it came with Daytona USA like it said on the fucking box but i got ripped off

Fun fact. I got my Saturn for $5 from Goodwill because they thought it was a genesis and didnt think it was worth much.

Dark Savior, Dragon Force and Guardian Heroes were my favorite. They still hold up today. Also Dragon Force has some hilarious translated lines that if it was more popular would've probably become memes.

Got one in 2012. I have Shining Force III (all 3 scenarios), Guardian Heroes, Virtua Cop, Virtua Fighter 2, Daytona, Sega Rally, Burning Rangers, Sam Shodown IV, Street Fighter Alpha, Darkstalkers 2, Astal, Panzer Dragoon 1, 2 and Saga, Policenauts, and a few others Im probably forgetting. Really frustrated that I waited too long to get Magic Night Rayearth and House of the Dead before they got stupid expensive.

I do. I love it, but it's definitely on the niche side. If you don't mind playing things in Japanese you have a ton more options.

Friggin love the Saturn. Allow me to reel in the years for a bit.

I played the Sega Saturn for the first time in the 90s at a kids' haircut place. The game was Sonic R and I fucking loved it... for the brief time I got to play it. But unlike most video game systems in those days, secondhand Saturn hardware/software prices never really dipped, so I didn't get to own one until many years later. I lucked out and got a boxed one for $30 in either 2010 or 2011.

It's my favorite Sega system. NiGHTS Into Dreams is in my personal top ten games ever, and I have great memories with Daytona USA, Clockwork Knight, SCUD, Fighters Megamix and others. I've never owned any of the sought-after games like Panzer Dragoon Saga or Saturn Bomberman, but that's alright.

I haven't played it since my undergrad days... need to get it hooked back up. And really, if anyone here is considering buying one, I'd recommend it; Saturn software is notoriously tough to emulate.

I really got it as a NiGHTS adapter for my TV, as it is one of my all time favorite games.

But by the time I picked it up other games were either very expensive and or near impossible to find.

I saw one used one in the wild a couple of years ago and was a bit tempted. But I know I probably wouldn't play it much. Also not sure if PAL units are stuck at 50hz.

I kinda want to own a Dreamcast, Saturn and OG Xbox because emulation doesn't seem to be as good compared to older Nintendo and PlayStation platforms.

I had one for a while. Street Fighter Alpha 1 and 2 were nearly arcade perfect. Wrestlemania:The Arcade Game and In Your House were dumb fun as well.

I'm hoping to get one eventually, but its not on the need right now list. I picked up a Sega CD for 100 CAD a couple years ago, bit overpriced, but it came with a full on genesis console that I can sell to recoop some of the cost(already own a genesis). Next on the list is a PSOne and the Sega Dreamcast. When I was in class mom had a yard sale, and she sold my dreamcast for 20 dollars. Haven't gotten another one since, though its on the list.

Dreamcast always seemed iffy to me. Some games are perfect but then others seem to be really glitchy. Although I barely deal with the hassle of emulation these days.

Yeah Sega Saturn emulation is not very good right now

It's actually gotten really decent the last year or so.

it is about to get better. There is a clone console called PolyMega. It takes carts and discs for a bunch of consoles and rips roms off them to install on a HDD. Their huge big promised feature is they claim they have perfect Saturn emulation. It finally launched sort-of a month or 2 ago. But only a small number of people who pre-ordered like 3 years ago, got them. They won't be available for everyone else til like this fall. Assuming no more delays

I have a Genesis, but not a Saturn. When it comes to the first generation of 3D gaming, I have a Nintendo 64 and a PlayStation 2 which is backward compatible with PS1 games.

There's not really that much on the Saturn I'd like to play. I would like a copy of Die Hard Arcade though.

Hmm that's a very interesting system. Would be cool if it was a success. It's a pretty neat idea. Haven't looked at reviews yet.
