Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was a fun game. I'd go with that. Good combat system (takes some getting used to if you're expecting XC1's system), great exploration, decent story.

My only knock on the game is that you get more blades through a Gacha summon system. But at least they didn't shove microtransactions into that. It's all obtainable without spending.

Better than 2, that's for sure. DQ11 is the better experience, though its weaker than 8 imo. Also, Bravely Default 2 just came out. But if you like Final Fantasy, might I suggest Octopath Traveler? It's one of the better rpgs on the system.

Xenoblade 1 is infinitely better than the trash that is 2, play that instead

DQXI is also fantastic but it's very much still a DQ game so if you go into it expecting anything more than a tried and true JRPG you will be disappointed

DQ 11 is great if you like old school jrpgs. The combat is basic turn based, nothing fancy and it's full of tropes. If you enjoy that sorta thing, you'll love it. It's very well done and very charming. My only gripe is that it's quite long. I was burned out by the end of the 2nd act and didn't even see the real ending. If you don't mind 80h games that won't be an issue.

I wasn't a fan of Xenoblade 2. The combat never really clicked with me and eventually regular battles were talking minutes and I was not having fun. The story never really grabbed me and the randomness of the blades turned me off. A lot of others enjoy it tho.

I loved Octopath Traveler, which doesn't seem to be a common opinion. The battle system and job system were really fun for me, but part of that is because I made myself play in a specific way to keep it engaging. Folks who bash it usually complain that it gets too easy too fast. The story is also kinda weak because it's a bunch of independent threads for each character that don't relate at all until the very very end.

Octopath gets a lot of hate but the battle system was actually pretty damn good. Same with the jobs. If you want good combat that's a good choice but the story, or at least the structure of the story, is very poorly done. Still worth a shot though.

Honestly you should play Ys 8 because it's probably the best jrpg on switch. Fast paced action jrpg with fun story and characters

Dragon Quest comes and goes but anime milkers are forever.

I'd rank the RPG's I've played like this (demos for most of them, only beaten XC1 and currently going through XC2).

XC1 > TS > XC2 > OT > DQ11 > BD2

Dragon Quest. Xenoblade really doesnt have much of a JRPG feel to it. The combat is really not strong and the game is fairly boring. Fetch quests with crappy rewards and a gatcha system.

Bravely Default is really fun so far.

Yes, and for the most part, you can choose whether to see them all the time or not since they are tied to specific outfit appearances and the Definitive Edition lets you choose appearance regardless of armor (so put 'em all in swimsuits if you want or cover 'em all up if you want).
