It felt like there was another 20 minutes worth of footage they had to cut to fit the episode into the 45-minute mark. The plot was all over the place. And yeah, the ending with the Doctor literally just talking to the audience about global warming or whatever it was, was just so cringey and unnecessary. Love & Monsters is Elton desperately searching for adventure, then realizing at the last moment that those who seek the Doctor end up doomed more often than not. Fear Her, similarly, presents itself as a comedy, but subtly equates the Isolus' need for companionship with the Doctor's need for companionship. Similarly, it jabs at the idea that those who get too close to the Doctor get burned, setting up Rose's departure in the finale. Bass_X0 posted... I think it's mainly because half the episodes felt like two separate plots crammed together, forced into this Timeless Child story arc. It might even be one of my favorites in the series as a whole.
