Yeah, Georgia is in razor focus right now. They're super pissed that all those black citizens were able to vote. You also have cases in states with native reservations where they basically want to make it a crime to collect ballots from folks; targeting reservations specifically because they tend to lack postal boxes/service.

Fuck states rights.

One universal standard for voting nationwide. States can EXPAND rights beyond the federal minimum but cannot lower them.

Universal no excuse mail-in voting. Fees on Voter ID or registration are illegal. Voter roll purges are much more strongly restricted and cannot take place without a six months of a Presidential or congressional election. Multiple notices that you will he purged must be sent well in advance of a purge and when purged they must also contact you.

Poll watchers or people in general are put given life in prison if they are armed, intimidate voters or interfere in voting. Protesting at or around election sites is illegal during election hours as it could interfere with voting or intimidate voters.

Early voting is required for at least a month before the election

Election day is a federal holiday and no business except truly essential ones are allowed to operate. Most that are open are required to schedule in a way that allows time to vote in person if desired.

Post office cannot make changes that could result in decreased speed or quality of service within a year of an federal election under pain of death to the current postmaster.

There must a minimum amount of ballot boxes/drop-off sites based on both the size of a district/city and the population size.

reconstruction not being handled better was one of the great tragedies in American history that has had negative reverberations right up to this day.

Reconstruction gave the South too much power in an effort to "heal" the nation.

The South may have lost the Civil War, but they won in the long run, especially in regards to Black people.
