I've seen plenty of Chinese produced shows, but of course it's set in China, and it's just about Chinese people in China. Something I've seen hundreds of times already. This tells the story of Asians in America. It's something we barely hear about. Asians being brought over as laborers was a small blurb in our school textbooks. 2. It's produced by American studios. It isn't a dubbed over import. And it's really nice to see Asians with varied roles. You have Chao who is a clever gray character. You have Mai Ling as the ambitious and cut throat leader. You have father jun as the hard old gangster. You have so many Asians in roles you never see before. Remember all those anti middle eastern shit in the media in the 2000s? No one can even make a hollywood movie or TV show related to the U.S. military without the military's consent. China has been U.S.'s rival for a long time and if you're a regular movie or tc show watcher you'd know how they portray Asian males but every 40 movie or show that shit on Asians, you get that one decent Asian representation in some form. Recently seems like things are changing a little bit though with that one big Marvel movie coming up or the new Mortal Kombat movie but the tv show Warrior is exactly the opposite of what the CIA/U.S. gov't want Asians/Asian males to be portrayed as. Masculine, have sex appeal, showing they are dominant against other males of different racers and showing sex scenes with Asian males and other females. There is no Ken Jeong type of character where they say degrading shit to themselves or to Asians.
