I am Cole Phelps, and I cannot get the damn hang of these witness interviews. It definitely feels like I can accuse this person but then I will say something that leads away from me actually using the evidence that I have against this person.

I liked it when it came out, but mostly because it was different. And it because a couple years before it came out, there was a topic on here asking us to combine the last two games we played, and this was the closest thing to realizing my combination (Grand Theft Phoenix Wright).

Tried playing the Switch version last year and it wasn't very enjoyable.

IIRC, the big problem is that the interviews were never intended to be like Ace Attorney- they're all about the facial animations and looking for tells, not contradictions. They just seemed enough like AA that most people assume they're meant to be solved the same way and focus on comparing statements to evidence when you're just supposed to look for which bit of dialogue makes their eyelid twitch.

I'm Cole Phelps, and I have learned not to accuse unless it is completely obvious (like the above poster said, don't focus on contradictions so much as when people are acting flighty).

That being said, I still think I mess up good cop and bad cop on a semi regular basis. Like when I'm questioning this dude's wife and I piss her off for being too mean to her.

First non-tutorial case is fairly standard. Obvious faked death case with a car straight out of a slaughterhouse. It was somewhat obvious the entire time and all these cases seem to be ending with really droll chase sequences.

There's some sort of overarching plot here with Cole's army buddies and a psychiatrist who's doping his patients with happy juice. Damn if I can make heads or tails of it though.

Except that really only helps with Truth or not Truth. That doesn't help you with the difference between Doubt and Lie, and if it is Lie you very much have to find the right evidence.

The faces seem to hover and grotesquely on the character models. Quite distressing.

I'm Cole Phelps and is a theme of this game racism or something? Like I know it's a period piece and a Rockstar game but I don't know if I can do this if every new case is going to give them an excuse for a white person to say a different racial slur.
