Did you keep hitting the "ignore" or "sleep" button? Eventually it'll force updates because they're important.

I always tell it to Pause updates if I'm working on something.

Honestly assumed something was wrong with my computer when that first started to happen.
However overall it seems like everything that MS does is to make things worse even things like Office. The older offices seem to be easier to work with.
