isnt that literally every job in the USAs PTO policylolno I typically have between 5 and 6 sick days and 5 and 10 vacation days at a job. Once I use that all up and take a day off, I don't get paid. It's a horrible policy.
With allotted and scheduled PTO, you can just yolo take days off and be confident about it. With this "take what you need" attitude, you have to deal a lot with justifying your "need" for taking time off. It sounds great on paper but is horrific in practice. --- "Oh, my mother; oh, my friends, ask the angels, will I ever see heaven again?" - Laura Marling ... Copied to Clipboard!

isnt that literally every job in the USAs PTO policy Not all though I'm sure it's quite frequent. My boss is pretty cool about it. I get 15 PTO days a year and toward the end of last year I still had them all so I used 5 of them to take the entire last week of October off. Boss asked what my plans were and I just told him straight up I just wanted to be lazy at home for a week instead of working and he just laughed and told me to enjoy it. --- https://imgur.com/TFF3Nn8 Joe Burrow, the legend ... Good god, why do I hear nothing positive about US workplaces and employers?Because, in general, the culture here is to put your job and career above all else. Corporate America is like its own weird little cult. Many of those high-up in charge whove worked their way up the ladder got there by subscribing to the culture. So, the expectation is that if you want to keep your job and/or get ahead, you have to follow suit. Unlimited PTO is the bullshit of bullshit.
Like I'm sure there are some companies that do it right but for most it just makes it harder for the employees to take off the time they would want to take. When you have a set number of PTO hours, they are yours. It isn't up for debate or dispute. If you have two weeks off you can take two weeks off. When you have unlimited PTO, or as long as the work gets done, you are put in the situation of having to defend your PTO usage. And even if the company doesn't intend for it to feel that way, the employee will still end up feeling it. My recommendation. Pretend you have three weeks of vacation and take off time like that's your allotted PTO for the year. Track it so you can tell anyone who pushes back on you exactly how much you have taken. You can adjust going forward based on the success of your initial three weeks. Everything got done, nobody complained? Try for four next year. People started fighting you at week three or the work started to fall behind. Do three weeks again but plan it out better. --- S*** I have to stop doing that," Gheb said, as he lay back down and died again. - Forgotten Love The Chiefs won the Super Bowl! ... I worked at a place where you had to use a specific form to request time off and they purposely never put any out... so you had to go to the managers office to get one and hed grill the fuck out of you and make low-key threats and you'd have to stand your ground to even get the form.
And then go through it again when you turned it in. And then either get refused, or get approved knowing you were gonna be in the shit when you came back from your time off. Fuck that place. --- "A dope trailers no place for a kitty, Ricky. Thats why." https://files.catbox.moe/gqwlkg.jpeg ~ by JimCarrysToe. Be amaze. ... Copied to Clipboard!
