Pornstache was the worst prison employee for the longest time until another person comes in around Season 4. Really all of the employees are terrible people and flat out suck except Lauren Lapkus' character and sometimes Luschek.

Caputo doesn't count though. He's one of the best characters in the show in general.

The show creator once said Piper was her Trojan Horse. She said that it's hard to sell a network on a show about black women, Latino women, old women, criminals, etc. A pretty, upper-class white women in a fish out of water storyline is what sold it.

I watched the entire show and enjoyed much of that experience but it is ultimately something that contributed greatly to me no longer watching more realistic dramas. If I could go back and unwatch it, I would.

Oh man I now love Piper after finding out that we're supposed to hate her and/or resent her whiny, spoiled, entitled rich white ass.

It melds so perfectly with the drama of the prisoners and their past lives, works really well. While watching this I was thinking "huh, been a while since I actually like the side characters in a show, possibly more than the main character. Dexter writers could learn a thing or two from this"

I'm watching Wentworth right now near the end of season 2, I still think orange is the new black blows this show out but I'll give it a chance.

Eh not really orange is the new black had some heavy dramatic moments and more interesting characters. Wentworth so far seems to be more forced drama and conflict so far nothing seems to organically happen without certain characters forcing these events or drama to happen.

Meh I'm only 2 seasons in so far maybe it gets better but so far I cant help but compare Wentworth to Orange and I find the latter far better.

the show kind of foreshadowed the George Floyd situation with that one skinny black chick who was held down and pressured upon until she died. I know it's not a 1:1 situation but looking back on it I thought it was interesting. It sucked cuz I really liked that character and she seemed to be a fan favorite too
