B'ehehe, I remember Michale Savage saying mark sounded like somes aunt getting a hysterectomy..or something along those lines.

Anyway, I've listened to him on and off since at least 1995, as I can remember his spots selling Windows '95.

Actually, it has been interesting lately.
Just to hear someone in his position with a complete lack of empathy.
It really brought his whole carrier into focus.

I don't think I've listened to many talk shows/podcasts over the radio - don't think I'd tune into that though, too political for me

My homie was showing/hearing me err.. Coast to Coast I believe? I might have the name totally wrong here, but it's a bunch of people calling in about UFO's they saw or something lol

One of the reasons I like listening to sports on the radio is because they cut into w/e 'conservative talk show they had going on.

I have heard that he's something of a jerk though - interpersonally. He's involved with great charities however.

90% of what I listen to is sports radio. The discussions can get "intellectual", but at the end of the day, it's just sports.

I enjoy the diversion.

When I was young there was this guy like, Smerconish or something. At the time I liked him because in addition to politics hed talk about a bunch of random entertainment stuff lol. Was more of a current events show than just a politics one.

even at my most conservative I always hated Limbaugh because everything he said sounded whiny and unhinged. >_>

He did a stunt about something - typically, something outrageous but I can't remember what it was- claiming to be at a sawmill. He did his usual rant for 20 minutes or so. As usual, some rube called in to complain. Everytime she tried to speak, this HUGE buzzsaw sound played, completely drowning her out. It went on for 10 minutes before she hung up. I have been laughing over 20 years about this.

Another time - and I remember this one vividly - he did a skit as a woman who ran a boxing gym to help other women to "punch like a champ and knock their man out" He reeled in every fish on the line. The premise was "couples therapy".

His sound effects were characters in and of themselves.

Bobby Dooley chillin' in the bath while talking about god knows what.

Phil at his best was fantastic radio.

BTW for those not in the know, Phil Hendrie had a radio show and he would play various characters saying stupid, silly and outrageous things. The things the characters would say were indefensible. People I can only describe as idiots would call in to complain.

Well maybe they were sincere and just didn't know they were being clowned.

Either way, Hendrie would clown callers for 2 or 3 hours every night. And did it for years.
