Disease is an umbrella term that includes basically any kind of malus that isn't a short term injury or death.

• genetic diseases
• Obesity
• mental diseases
• cancer
• Bacteria Infections
• Fungal infections
• Heart disease (aka death from old age)
• Concussions
• Etc

These things don't just suck for the purpose of sucking. They're based on real scientific biological interactions. If you get stabbed in the gut for example, you'll get infected from your gut bacteria. But now you can't do what does that mean for your gut bacteria & digestive ability?

But even if he wasnt, then yeah it would put more doctors out of work but there are plenty of specialties that would still be in high demand, such as OB/GYN, pediatrics and family doctors to assist with the growing population. Not to mention surgical sub specialties such as orthopedics as well, and by extension anesthesiology and radiology too.

That's not really the case. It's actually education & standard of living that does it. Poor countries with little or no formal education are still benefitting at least partially from increased life expectancy and low infant mortality but the birth rates are still as high as ever.

Standard of living being a factor because places with high standard of living mean people are also more economically stressed and "can't afford" kids or "don't want to ruin their career" or just something as simple as they have access to cheap and effective birth control.

Getting rid of all diseases and viruses would not be without its consequences. The ecosystem would inevitably be destroyed and humans would overpopulate the planet. It might seem like a good thing at first, but I think it would lead to more negatives than benefits.
