She lead police on a chase. This while it would still be bad if she just lost control of the car. But she was running from the cop and murdered 2 people. If a homeless person did that can killed two rich white people. They would be under the jail.

  • Reckless driving
  • 2 counts of either 2nd degree homicide or negligent homicide, since she was engaged in a crime manslaughter won't be an option

  • Whatever it was they wanted to pull her over for in the first place

Thats why there are so many homeless there. The gap in well off rich people and the poverty stricken is huge.

There are tons of tents lined up on beaches and multiple families living in small houses but its just accepted in many areas. A good rule of thumb: Nearly every city there that starts with a W is a dumpster.

Then of course there are all the celebrity homes and rich areas. Not a lot in between.

The juvenile system exists almost entirely for the purpose of diversion and/or rehabilitation. When they charge a child as an adult it's basically because there's no point in putting them in a diversion program. Tbqh this one seems like she is a good candidate for the juvenile system

"Defense" is not the same as "get out of jail free"

If you plead something like not guilty by reason of insanity, for example, you can still be locked up as an inpatient.

"Stupid kid" has a long history of being used to mitigate sentences even during guilty verdicts. (Reminder that affluenza kid was found guilty, just as an example)
