Recently been playing the series finished the 1st one almost done with the 2nd. I'm excited because I never played the 3rd. Anyone else enjoy this series or am I alone?

Only ever had the first game, but I freakin loved it. It was so original and it was one of the first games I can remember to use the duel shock joysticks to their full potential. I remember my mind being blown by the control scheme

Sony's philosophy on games is so different now. They make games like Last of Us Pt 2 and God Of War. Ape Escape doesn't fit into that brand sadly. I'm surprised Ratchet and Clank has survived as long as it has in this era.

Ape Escape was one of my first loves on the original PlayStation. I absolutely adored that game. Played and completed the sequels as well, but I personally felt tonally they went in a more cartoony direction. The first game was this great balance of comedy, surrealism, and seriousness. The later two games dropped most the "serious" aspects, which still fits in with a game about netting mischievous monkeys, but it didn't hit me in quite the same way. Regardless, I always hope they'll make a new Ape Escape game. The series is very unique, as you said, and there's a lot of potential for it to grow.

This, only played and beat first game.

Me and a friend wasted a lot of extra hours doing a few of the minigames in that game as well.

I tried playing 1 again but I realized I had to move the analog stick the full length to produce any movement.

You wouldn't believe how much something like that bothered me. Not sure if it was my setup or the game was really like that on PS1.
