I really need to get my mind under control.

Wondering if it will actually help.

No, but contemplative writing does. Just stream of consciousness til your brain is spitting out fumes and there's nothing left to write

Definitely. I wouldnt expect it to work on your first try; it takes practice. But yes, it is effective.

Depends on the person. Visualization and that slow breathing shit totally helps me but im not going in thinking im reaching enlightenment or any of that garbage. Its just a tool for calming down and clearing the brain, you know like exercise.

so long as you're grounded about it, yeah.

If you think you're literally opening up chakras and reaching higher planes of existence, I've got bad news for you

Yes and no. It entirely depends on the person. I practiced Meditation for 6 months daily with very little value gained from it, whereas others gain energy and happiness from the relaxation.

It's not for me, but that doesn't mean it doesn't work.

EDIT: I should note I practiced Western meditation, which is generally a form where you focus on your breathing or an object in order to keep yourself centered, letting thoughts come and go as they please without giving them much thought.

Yes. I'd say it works and found others using meditation to guide their lives. Like i began conversation about meditating to others. Like random outta the blue sorta things. I admit to still finding my way through it all and really open myself to communicating. Im shy and dont do this stuff but with meditating and talking about it, i have so many ideas and much to say. Sure it can be a whole lotta nothing but its been interesting to say the least. It opened doors for me. I am as casual about meditating as they come. I got gifts from Nepal and other prayer items to help connect to a deeper meditation but tbh i didnt need that stuff. I was more about the mind stuff and how to pay attention to whatevers goin on there. I was looking at all types of meditation but the one that intrigued me the most was tantra.

For me it was more reflection & self discovery. Became more aware about what i think & tell myself. The mind prison i put myself in. As i discovered things about me i saw how others were trapped in theirs.

A call to action. I wanted to help others with the time they seemd overwhelmed with. Lost track of what i wanted to know about myself but found that the little time i gave made someones day better.

2020 brought more discovery & the disconnect i have with myself tbh. I was using the knowledge of tantra to go into a depth of rediscovery. 2021 slowly bringing me to do something about it.

Yeah Afrocentric or Easter meditation and philosophy is the way to go. Western anything is awful.

I practice every day and listen to binaural beats and different Hz frequencies to give me a boost in certain areas. But the meditation itself doesn't fix everything, it's a whole lifestyle change. You have to approach everything from a holistic, natural and universal mentality. Things like going vegan, doing yoga, a proper sleep schedule, drink clean water w/o fluoride, etc.

It won't matter what you do for your mind though if you don't give your body and soul the same attention and care.
