Only cybernetic thing I would go for are nanobots assuming they're reliable, they don't malfunction and can't be hacked. I don't want to suddenly and painfully turn into goop.

Otherwise, it'd be genetic since cybernetics aren't part of our bodies and can't really heal or truly coexist. With current tech, anyway.

I was thinking changing body for synthetic parts. Price varies depending on quality. Nanomachines may be available, but outrageously expensive.

Cybernetic enhancements can take more punishment, but need maintenance and repairs. Genetic enhancements are more vulnerable, but heal faster than normal humans.

I hope nano machines become a reality in my life (heh).

Give me something I would give a damn to make money towards:

I think the timeline will be

Cybernetic humans then genetically improved humans then artificial life/intelligence. Nanomachines probably become mainstream towards the end.

I'd go for genetic even if these were the only two.

Cybernetic always seems cool but I know in reality I'm too big of a p-word to actually ever get anything cool like that - I pass out when they dilate my eyes at the optometrist.

For consideration, Neural Implants may help you near-instantly process and access information like memories, but I'd imagine genetic enhancements get that instinct or sixth sense.

I imagined healing to be 2x or 3x faster than the quickest healing normal human. Not like Deadpool or Wolverine.

In a world with cybernetic and genetically enhanced humans, I wonder what would become of those who decide stay normal.

I was wondering that too, especially since I played Cyberpunk recently. Seems like *everyone* in that world was modified in some way or another since you can like ... infect them with malware wirelessly (how safe is that lmao)

I would imagine that taking at least a month or two.

Phyrexian seem to be reanimated corpses.

Haven't played Cyberpunk, but I suppose vulnerability to viruses could a reason why cybernetics might be considered "crude/primitive" compared to genetic enhancements.

The idea that I kould lose an eye, fuck up my liver, or end up paralysed from the shoulders down, but being kapable of going back to normal on my own without any hospital bills is still quite the winner, in my book.

Main hurdle for obtaining genetic enhancements would be the price. Would probably look something like this

Genetic enhancements $$$$$
Top tier cybernetics (i.e. nanomachines) $$$$
Mid tier cybernetics $$$
low tier cybernetics (visible parts) $$

That's who I usually think of when referring to genetic, but this pathway could lead to some gene splicing new species type of deal.

Meanwhile, cybernetic enhancements remind me of Cyborg Ninja from Metal Gear.
