Building a desktop to continue music production, some gaming, and video editing.
I'm leaning towards an intel i7 or i9 processor with 32 GB of RAM. Would i9 be overkill? Music production uses a lot of cpu so I figure i9 shouldn't be overkill but what do you guys think? --- Perfect_Edge ... Copied to Clipboard!

I think i7 would be just fine. i9 Seems a bit overkill for just music production. If it doesn't hurt the pockets, I say do it. You might not even need that much CPU power for your needs.
Spend that money on something else you may need is my advice. Perhaps additional RAM. --- "He busted in, blessed be the Lord Who believe any mess they read up on a message board" -MF DOOM ... Copied to Clipboard!

I would like to keep everything in the $2000 budget but I can go higher if needed.
