It's like gamefaqs. I picture a bunch of hillbillies sitting around with their racist ideals who would then in turn print anything and sell out if it equalled money in their pockets. So many rumors come out that end up not even being the truth. It is all so sensationalized and it's like they purposely overlook the truth and won't go that extra mile. I get some of it is like warfare because politicians are equally corrupt and you end up with really partisan politics. But the amount of sell out nonsense has really gotten bad. Hence fake news and not even how Donald Trump means it.

What's scary is when people start believing it and think they have power over other people and lose any sense of reality or how to think freely and truthfully. That's the nazi bs. These people have no concept of what being an American is. There is responsibility that comes with that. And it's not all about selling out. There is nothing in America that says because so and so has x amount of dollars they have power over other people. There are actual laws and it goes both ways.

legitimate "news" outlets are graded on their factual reporting, but the vast majority of them are objectively accurate or their reputation would suffer.

this idea of "fake news" where a politician instructs the public to distrust the media is, like, fascist dictator 101.

I agree what Trump is doing is that. What's a shame though is the media really isn't the truth either though. They are selling out just as much. It doesn't apply to the real world, unless you are a sell out. There are delusions there.

This is how a huge portion of the media makes money is they report any rumor regardless of factual basis for clicks and it gets overlooked in a sea of nonsense. Some of it they legitamently just make it up. Because it seems like a good idea to them. They pander.

A huge percentage of what Trump thinks is garbage. A huge percentage of what other politicians think is garbage. Some of it is alright. But that's for me to decide.

I miss those old guys like peter jennings, dan rather and tom brockaw. All they did was report the news. These new clows on cnn and fox arent news reporters. Theyre opinion reporters. Which is why i only watch abc news.

the media isn't a monolith. Some schmuck in a foreign country with a blog and photoshop is going to frequently be wrong, quite often on purpose, because it either a) generates clicks (and thus revenue) or b) furthers his agenda

And organization like the Associated Press is wrong like.... <5% of the time.

The problem is people are stupid enough to deny things even though there's no evidence to suggest it. For Trump, "fake news" meant "reality that I don't like".

And please don't lump "all politicians" together because that is an erroneous take. Just, jaywalking and murder are both crimes, but it's unfair to lump them both into the same "criminal" category.

When Trump sits there and says he denounces white supremacy and qanon and all these groups he doesn't. Because he's ridden white supremacy to getting elected. Then he says it's not like you are asking Biden to denounce antifa and all these groups. The racial divide is real but it's also created by politics and people selling out. It's not just in politics either. It's in the media period and people selling out and becoming more and more delusional as far as what the real issues even are.

They aren't addressing the real issues is the thing. They are riding whatever gets them paid and elected. And it really doesn't apply to the real world, other than people are sell outs.
