sunny is being unbearably smug as usual but he's basically correct. undocumented immigrants typically pay more taxes and fill more jobs that natural citizens don't want to do. the produce industry is incredibly guilty of doing this because it's a way to get cheap intensive labor from people who are less likely to complain about being mistreated

They say they want to give illegals citizenship because deep down they're Americans and the United States was founded upon immigration. That's a lie.

The real reason they're doing it is because its an automatic majority for Democrats, because illegals will vote for the party that is pro open borders and giving every single illegal handouts and citizenship. We might as well just merge our Mexico and the United States into one country at this point.

And there it is what you actually said

The Republicans should focus more on making better policy that more people like. But.. they'd rather stick to disenfranchisement and voter suppression.

Keep in mind too, more legal citizens means more people paying taxes. I don't think I've ever seen more than a few stray Dems clamor for "open borders" as the right wing fear propaganda goes.

I can understand some of your questioning. I frequent the place and I got with many of the discussions that are held, but it IS a very blue board.

That board seriously needs a different title...preferably one that addresses how the whole place is full of crazies.

Saw another topic where a guy said its not okay to riot.

About two pages in the crazies there are saying pretty horrible stuff about the op and have seemed to already assumed or REALLY want to assume is political leaning.

They need meds...its hilarious because they all seem pretty concerned about corona over there. But I guess thier medical concerns only go far enough to be for diseases that also have had politics involved...not thier own brain damage.

most who come here illegally live in squalor or are homeless, it's not easy to find a place to live when you have no papers or identification after all, but the reason they do that is because they had it much worse where they came from.

also, to proper immigrate, it costs around $11,000+ to actually become a us citizen, it doesn't take into account attorney fees, which you do need, it also doesn't take into account the classes you need to take which also cost money, then you have general living fees on top of all of that, or that you get disqualified if you make a single mistake on your applications or tests, including missing a period or comma in a written test. and if you fail, you get to spend all that money again.

oh, and until recently, applicants would just get failed regardless. that's what happens with a xenophobic president who tells USCIS to fail everyone, i suppose.

Well, I don't really agree with your assertation. George W Bush even wanted to offer a path to citizenship for those people, but the Republicans are now driven by people not of that view. They live in the fucking country, in my opinion. Some Republicans think wanting to deport 11 million people is a normal train of thought - I don't think so.

Yeah...the funniest thing is when they make topics that say "to any repubs/supporters of something I don't like, answer my honest question..." If one answers, they get flamed and modded.

They actually WANT people they don't agree with to show up there...so they can find ways to subsequently mod them and vent all their psycho hate.

Or maybe they make those kinds of topics because they realize that if none of those people showed up there ever...they'd truly become the group of angry men children screaming in a room to themselves that the rest of the site already knows they are.

BTW...and non-surprisingly...even insinuating to them that they really are an echo chamber and a lone liberal leaning board that mostly just agrees with themselves...yeah that's also moddable there. They don't even enjoy that very basic reality being presented to them.

There are corners of the internet that you just got to avoid at the end of the day. GFAQs politics is one of them...I guess the only defense is that they aren't absolutely the WORST place on the internet, just in the top ten.
