Current Events > Is having a gaming (or any other media) backlog dumb?

Does anyone else feel like it sometimes reduces gaming to a task on a to-do list? I mean I won't play games that I don't think I'd enjoy at all, but a lot of them I also could probably live without and instead just stick to favorites. It's not like I'll ever play through everything but I have gaming FOMO I guess.

I'm not saying playing games in general is dumb, just that having a massive list of stuff you want to play maybe isn't the best way to go about it

I've given up on actually getting through it. I just see it as having a lot of options now.

I just play whatever I want at the moment. Don't want to make it feel like some sort of chore.

this. it's all about perspective. instead of viewing your backlog as a list of chores to complete, it's a wide array of choices.

That's fair but for me I find if I don't make an attempt to try to play some of the stuff in my backlog I just end up falling back on old favorites. And I've realized that a lot of them aren't really that much fun to replay anymore, it's just easier to get through something familiar.
