So why the fuck is GameStop doing this?

A few large firms aggressively shorted gamestop last year assuming they wouldn't survive the pandemic. It was shorted so much, there isn't enough stock out there to cover. Both a subreddit with a large appetite for risk YOLO'd for the long haul to put pressure on the naked shorts. Plus the owner of Chewy.com invested a ton into it early January and got a seat on the board so it's a combination of a legitimate pivot of Gamestop (potentially), the aggressive shorts who got caught, and a bunch of social media hype trying to maintain the squeeze.

If it succeeds, GME can go in the upper 3 digits or even 1000 per share, presumably. This is because if the shorts get margin called, they will essentially have to pay any market price, even 1000 to buy up the shares they shorted.

It's simple supply/demand. Any minor plays like today's record high followed by drop is nothing compared to what can happen--presuming everyone buys shares and HOLDS. Dumping because you made chump change on a dip is short sighted. This is like a once in a decade opportunity. Or it will fizzle out. Either way, a ton of retail investors YOLO'd into it with a bunch of people putting money they can spare to lose for the ride of a lifetime.

The 750 is now just about $12,000

Sad that person put all their money into one stock. Should have split it across several stocks.

That person with 143k would have been better off putting it into a dividend stocks and guaranteeing they got paid somewhere between 1k-3k a month no matter how the stock market goes.

Over the span of a year, deposited $2340 starting since March 2019. Kinda just put money down on whatever my father recommended until Jan 2021.

I'm up $1274 since March 2019.

Stocks currently in NIO, XPEV and AAPL. Bought BNGO, BB and ZOM over the past few days. Which is a gamble for me.

Started 2 weeks ago with 3,000. Market value of my stocks is now 3,650. It had been around 4k this morning but BB, TLRY, and a couple other stocks took dips.

Yeah, but itd have to be about an 8% dividend or higher, not a lot of those.

The safer way would be to put it into good options stocks.

You could put that into Tesla and sell covered calls for $5-10k a week and not even get exercised.

Yeah... Also, keep in mind that SLVO is at 12 cents/share this month. They have been as high as 24 cents/share. I'm hoping the dividend per share increases next month.
