I've used it a few times. Honestly, I always say it with genuine intent. But when I'm done with someone, I'm done with them. That's no reason to wish them harm though.

I think saying "have a nice life" without any other well wishes or anything else can be considered quite rude.

If your intention wasn't meant to be rude, I'd definitely end a relationship with something more than that.

It also completely depends on who you're saying that to and what your relationship is with that person
