Yes, this topic is actually about Kool-Aid.

If not, do you regularly drink some other alternative? Like that crystal light stuff, or maybe something that is less "unhealthy"? (I'm not sure what such is. some kinda fruit juice? But not as tedious as juicing lemons every time I want a drink)

I'm actually trying to consider the options cause my mom is grilling me about one of the only things left that makes me happy in life, and I only have until tomorrow to consider such

Been a long time since I drank Kool-Aid. As of late, I've been going with single-serve pouches of Crystal Light with bottled water (Wild Strawberry's my fave).

I used to drink a lot, but I've been drinking mostly water for the past few years. I think it's tangibly improved my health.

I haven't really found an alternative besides something like crystal light or just going with packets of tea. I think I'm probably just gonna end up settling with koolaid or tea.

I don't drink kool-aid ever since a summer camp in boy scouts.

we shattered the record for pitchers of "bug juice" (super red kool-aid) in one meal. 21 pitchers. less than 12 people

Yeh I'm familiar with this one but it has a noticeably distinguishable "food coloring" taste (as far as I remember) compared to Kool-Aid.

But for the record, the legendary green flavor is not Strawberry Kiwi. That comes out as pink flavor. It must be watermelon or something.

Nah, you gotta add like a cup of sugar for it to taste good, some no-name brand of fruit punch or orange juice is good enough.

a cup of sugar is 200 grams, a can of soda is like 50 grams of sugar. so it's about even when you make a jug of kool aid I think.

I usually buy the Walmart clones of Crystal Light. Tastes the same but it's like $1 cheaper. Walmart's version of Crystal Light Energy has more caffeine. Their "Orange Early Rise" flavor tastes a LOT like Tang, but it's sugar-free.

Aldi also makes a pretty good imitation of Hawaiian Punch's sugar-free packets, at about $2.50 for 40. The only disappointment is the purple one is just plain "grape" instead of whatever "Wild Purple Smash" is (I think it's supposed to be grape with pineapple and strawberry).

I drink mostly booze and seltzer. Sometimes I'll drink cranberry juice or Kombucha. Rarely sugar free energy drinks.

I also drink a fair amount of bottled water and/or coffee in the mornings.

I may keep these suggestions somewhere in the back of my mind. Mainly because we haven't shopped at Walmart in a long time (We're doing Kroger these days)

Okay, well you guys have an interesting topic going there, but I digress to say that adding syrup in one's lemonade makes you a sinner.

Anyway, behold the alternatives my mom has presented me with. (True "fruit thing" packets)

A bunch of those things, I think we received even more flavors than is shown there, I don't feel like running off to take a pic of the sample pack at the moment.

Anyway, they are single serving non-sugar (<1g for some flavors) 16oz water additives.

And I have to say, they are actually not bad. Not bad at all. If you have cojones, you don't need to add any sugar at all. I suspect that if you desire to, it would only need a tad bit. And would probably taste just as good as any other flavored drink.

As Bubbles would say... "Decent..."

It really does sound gross, doesn't it?

So I just tried some.

It's actually not gross!

You should just be expecting flavored water, it's not overpowering. I drank like half then I poured some sugar in to see how the rest of the half was. Kind of strangely, it didn't make it better (maybe I didn't use enough sugar? Kind of threw off the profile a little.) I tried the lemon mint before that, same okayness.

My overall opinion.... You know how kool-aid is sugary and good... and you can sit around and drink a shitload of it, and come back for more? Whereas if you're just drinking water, a single bottle is good enough and you're good and hydrated?

A single bottle is good enough (like any regular water drinking session, unless quite thirsty or in need of hydration.) You (I) don't desire nor need to drink any more than that and are satisfied enough.
