I can't for some reason. If I try to run, it becomes an awkward fast walk. I can only move quickly under some circumstances and in those circumstances, I can move very fast.

Yeah I used to work for doctors

Is your doctor a runner? Bet he's never run a mile in his life. He just treats bad runners and makes assumptions.

The abdominal surgeon I worked under would tell people to do situps to lose belly fat. My podiatrist told me I don't "have the feet for running and I'd need surgery if I did"

Could be due to hill running or incline on a treadmill if you do that? I got that awful pain before and the pain went away once I dropped the incline for a week.

Ideally you'd have three steps a second -- small strides. Most people take giant steps

ew who taught you this.

Actually not about how far you stride but how fast you're picking your legs up.

Look up "pose running" for an idea of how it works. Kicking forward at all is a waste of energy, as is bouncing up and down.

No, I just ride my bike if I wanna do stuff besides lifting weights and pullups. I could really use some walking and running these days though due to Covid. I'm glad I don't really gain weight because some of my family members have really put on some weight this past year <_<

That's crazy! I used to do distance and got to 15mi once (I wanted to see if I could eventually run the Boston Marathon) but that put my feet out for a whole two weeks

I think I was upping the distance wayyyy too fast lol - been trying to see if I could work my ass back up there with some decent run times.. I keep saying 'I'm too busy' but that's a ****ing lie lol smh

Just take it easy and in time your definition of "Easy" will change dramatically and you'll look back on it all and realize how much you improved. Distance running isn't one of those things where you have to Max Out every single time, you just have to go out and show up. That 15 minute mile will turn into a 10 minute into an 8 minute and then you'll be doing 7 minute miles with no effort on any of your regular runs. You'll sprint something under 6 minutes eventually and it'll feel like you just started running yesterday.

Hardest thing about running is just having the patience for it.
