They did release Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare and The Ballad of Gay Tony DLC separately during 2010 as well.

Kind of sad to consider how many games they created between 2000-2010. Approximately thirty-three separate games!

Goes to show you how unfortunately the online gaming industry is right now.

Midnight Club games, Max Payne games, Manhunt games GTA games, The Warriors, Bully, State of Emergency games, Red Dead Revolver.

Thats the problem with AAA game development, they take double the amount of time to make compared to the ps3/360 and prior gens.

I still go with the theory there has to be some legal reason why they never remastered MP3 or even made it BC for Xbox. Issues with the voice actor? Music copyright? License issues? Who knows.

That's the more important issue to highlight. GTA Online is such a money machine they literally don't care about anything else. It's fucking embarrassing and I'm not surprised so many of their original R* employees left.

As graphical fidelity increases and public expectations keep rising, games require exponentially more effort and more staff members to keep meeting the curve - let alone try to surpass it.

I can't find a budget for GTA3 - let's say that it had between $10 million and $30 million to be generous. San Andreas cost $100 million to make in the 2000's, and it took a crew of 1,000 people to make that game.

GTA5 had a budget of $265 million. Again, over 1,000 staff members over multiple Rockstar companies worked in this game, and that doesn't count the hundreds of contractors utilised during periods of crunch to get the game finished.

Think about how much money, time and manpower went into Red Dead Redemption 2's horse genital physics compared to the entire roster of weapon animations in GTA3. It takes that much more time, money and effort to create an AAA video game today that meets expectations and pushes the envelope to a level that most people are happy with.
