did you know the game has a hard limit to the number of ESP/ESM that it can run? its ~255, and on the current install of oldrim i have one of my biggest issue is doing everything i can not to bump up against that limit since it destabilizes the game.

all told i have about 450 mods active. and it takes a fuck ton of time to get that running smoothly.

Rip, that sounds like a pain in the ass lol. I think that is a crazy amount of mods to run though.

there's this mod called legacy of the dragonborn, which is essentially a giant museum you fill up wit crap from quests. and the mod author has tied in dozens of other mods to it. putting that mod, and the mods tied to it, into my load order doubled the number of mods i wanted at least.

Sheesh, that sounds cool though. There are a ton of random quest items that i just stuff in a closet lol. Cool someone gave them a purpose.

if you want to try it you should look here. i found out about this list while i was building my game and it looks pretty comprehensive, plus i'm pretty sure there's support for something like wabbajack which functionally downloads and installs modlists for you.

Just started the dark brotherhood guild and decided to use frenzy on Grelod the Kind hoping that the kid would get their revenge. This was really terrible but she starts beating the kids until Constance Michel comes up from behind her, picks her up onto her shoulders and body slams Grelod onto her neck. Could not believe it

Unarmed has some crazy fun kill moves. It's just that the player won't see them unless they play a Khajiit running around in Daedric Gauntlets with Fortify Unarmed on that and, IIRC, a ring.

There's also a spinning smash, a choke slam, and a few others.

I'd have to look to see what ones I have exactly but I got all the graphics ones, the more dynamic npc and weather ones, and some to make weapons look better so far. Oh and the tiny tree house.

I'd appreciate recs if you're playing on xbone

My latest play through is on Xbox. Here are some must haves.
-Inigo
-Alternate Start: Live Another Life
-The Moonlight Tales (For Werewolves)
-JKs Skyrim (Makes major cities way nicer looking.
-The Astronomers Loft (Sick apartment in Whitetun)
-Become a Bard (Detailed mod where you can play instruments, perform music, earn gold from people and weapons from Jarls if you are good)
-Cloaks and Capes (Or cloaks of Skyrim
-Ordinator (Perk overhaul)

Those are what I am running. Playing as a lute playing bard Argonian. Inigo performs as well. Tons of custom songs, songs the require followers, and other stuff. I fight with Illusion and Conjuration.

I dont like to completely change the game, just add some new features and stuff is what I prefer

Glad I can help. I would highly recommend Ordinator too. It gives you way more abilities to earn for each skill, rather than just 20% more destruction magic damage It adds new powers and such but it does not feel like a mod.

The Bard mod is great with the survival mode I have on. When I am in any city aside from Whiterun since I have the apartment, I go into the tavern, me and Inigo perform, get paid, and get a room for the night because you need to sleep in survival. Just two traveling lute players traveling Skyrim, and raiding caves on the side lol

I'm a big fan of Requiem for an overhaul myself. Goes through pretty much everything to make it feel very different to OG skyrim and improves the feeling of levelling up as certain monsters you can't take on as a low level and have to improve/use certain gear to overcome.

You have to pay for it anyway but there are mods that do the same thing. Basically you have to eat, sleep, and not freeze to death. Its not annoying or invasive, just makes you think your approach differently. If you wanna clear a dungeon, maybe you should rent a room at the inn before you go so you dont get tired. Stuff like that

Nice. Get some leather stripes and make the wearable lute at a forge. It looks sick. There are two different ones. Only difference is how far they placed on your back. Try them out and see which looks best

Also head to Riften and see Inigo :) Or go join the bards college. Viarmo will sell song books of the other races. You should have the Bosmer songbook already

Some enemies will level with you I believe. I don't know exactly how it works but it feels like some enemies have a minimum level, even if you are lower. Mammoths and Giants will fuck you up for almost the whole game lol

I hate fighting giants but i usually use an enchanted bow to keep distance between me and them. I would rather fight a damn dragon any day over a giant. I suppose i could bring a battle troll with me to help out.

Ever get so many side quests that you felt overwhelmed?

When I was new at the game yeah, now I kinda know which quests are worth hustling over, and which are ones to do when I happen to be in the area.

I wish the crossbow wasn't so damn slow to reload though, it can be powerful but it's so damn slow.

I never cared for the crossbow, I prefer normal bows. They look way cooled are are more fun imo

I wish the Dawnguard DLC wasn't broke on my 150 hour VR file. The person at the gate won't activate and let me progress when I bring the NPC chick. I had to go back 5 hours in my files before I got her attached to my party so I could just go back to the vanilla area without her tagging along. Skyrim is one of the best shitty games.

This also happened to me but you can use a wooden bowl and the whirlwind sprint shout to glitch through the wall and continue the quest.

Giants are super susceptible to Slow poisons. I usually mix River Betty with Deathbell for a nice anti-giant poison.

The Armored Trolls are underwhelming. I once purchased one only to have it die in the random encounter waiting at the exit to Dayspring Canyon; couldn't even make it back to Riften with the thing.

I got inigo and tried both equippable loots. The longer one is better imo just cause it works with a cape.

I'm playing on XOne and downloaded a mod that added a fuckton of new spells so I've been trying to raise my Destruction, but I just love hacking shit with a sword.

Maybe its different now but when I last played you could just spam dual casting and stunlock anything and I always fell back on it so it kinda broke the game

I do wanna try a buncha the new spells in some mods though.

Destruction mages are an all-or-nothing proposition. The magicka cost is just too intensive to half-ass it. If you want a lazier approach to magic use Conjuration or Illusion. It's fairly easy to drop a Flame or Frost Atronach and let it assist in fights.

Do his quest as soon as you can. It unlocks a lot more features. The quest will occur naturally when you are in Skyrim and not in a building or city

Its so strange. Every other city it at least relatively close to another. But Markarth is in the middle of nowhere. Such a bitch to get to. I werewolfed it to run faster and still only made it halfway from Falkreath

Werewolves aren't that great at overland travel without a few human corpses already set up nearby to chomp on immediately after transformation. In that regard the Vampire Lord wins out as they have free reign from 7pm to 5am.

If you do want to travel as Werewolf, it helps to rush the Savage Feeding perk so you can extend your timer from eating animals along the way. Groups of mudcrabs, goats, the random fox or bunny rabbit, all are useful then.

There is some buggy behavior in the Survival mode from CC though, Werewolves(and presumably Vampire Lords) continually lose heat if they aren't in a Warm environment. You won't lose health while transformed, but even a place with Comfortable air will see you Freezing if you're there long enough. It's a goofy mechanic that sees Werewolves hugging campfires and the like to avoid instant death when shifting back.
