Current Events > Here are my problems with Skyrim (very early spoilers)

Automatic health regen
Leveled items don't scale in level when you do
Respawns take too long
The skill trees suck
The magic sucks
The opening scene is stupid and the plot is dumb at the start
You're magically believed to have seen fucking dragon and even though the soldiers did most of the damage, you are considered the dragonborne

In fact, without mods I dare say I find it unplayable

It should have already been mentioned when you killed the first dragon but you are considered Dragonborne because you absorbed the soul of the dragon when it died.
that shouldn't be considered spoiler but just in case.

Any Tom, Dick and Harry can land a killing blow on a dragon but your character is the only one that can do that

My problem is they took out all the soul of the previous games and made it into a generic action adventure game.

Also werewolf is terribly broken but in a fun way.

Yeah.

If you're doing the main quest, imo you should delay completing the next one Retrieve the Dragonstone and explore the map instead.

My main gripe is that the models for the character builds have so many bizarre choices, there's only a few that don't leave you looking like a hideously disfigured car crash victim. This is especially true of the freaky mouth types...!

I only played it seriously once for a few hours and just remember giving up after I got the follower woman since I realized that the magic and health regen were going to bore me to tears

Because they believed in the folk tales of their Nord upbringing.

But there's only so far that logic will get you in sword-and-sorcery fantasy. It's pointless asking why characters aren't more skeptical about superstitions, or demanding to know how magic works, or insisting that it's scientifically implausible to have gigantic insects.

Honestly the game is dumb like that.

Like when you work through the thieves guild questline - everyone knows that you're a thief. And then a master thief. That kind of defeats the purpose of being a master thief lol.

You only have yourself to blame expecting anything else from brutai.

Skyrim is still incredibly dumb though about so much. I still play it though, as a lot of fun with mods.

It's still early on but the game does make a point of showing how seriously the Nords take their religion. The Dragonborne is part of their religion and such.

Fun fact: If you have captions on, you can understand the words of the dragons as they fight you. The dragon you killed near whiterun says something like "Dragonborne? Noooo!" as it's dying lmao

Jarl is a Norse word for their leader.

Only valid complaint. Having to wait to do quests for scaled weapons to get the best version is straight bullshit

I honestly thought auto healing really killed the point of the RPG

Everyone who gets appointed a Thane in the various cities gets a bodyguard like that - you get one for each city as well and several of the NPC thanes have them as well. You were made a Thane for helping kill the dragon, fetching the stone and showing yourself as dragonborn.

My main problem with Skyrim is the same complaint I have with most RPGs: It takes too fucking long to do anything. I'd rather just find items that upgrade me rather than slowly gain levels and then have to choose which skill trees I want to invest in to actually get some new ability.

Oh and most of the dungeons were boring, just walk through this linear ugly brown cave with laughable or no puzzles and kill a bunch of undeads. Would've been cool if you got some cool and unique upgrade at the end of every dungeon, but I understand for many people that's not really the point of these kind of games.
