Current Events > Feeling kind of bummed about being single atm.

It's less about being single in general and more so because the last woman I had some sort of connection with recently had to move away to the outskirts of town some months or so ago. And before that, the last girl I've been with was about 6 years ago and it was under awful circumstances lol.

But yeah, I've been feeling crappy about it throughout the Holidays and I don't want to beat myself up over any of that. You guys are great at taking stuff like this and making it funny.

There's negative shit to having a gf/wife too. Never forget that. Sometimes I wake up in the morning hung over and stare at the wall thinking........ I could sleep all day but I gotta help the gf with this or that.... SON OF A BITCH.

Well what if the girl of your dreams has that one downfall for you where she wants to drink with you all night? She would forget to mention that her mom wants you to help her move shit around at 8am the next day but you don't know that until 8:05 when she finally wakes you up.

Have you tried applying that "depression" on to something productive? You're that animator guy, right? Maybe this can push you to make a clip about your frustration on video as a means of an outlet.

Oh trust, between this and the self-quarantine stuff, I'm still doing my thing and loving it. This feeling is more like a little nagging voice in the back of my head at times. Then I get those nights where I'm all alone and it starts to bug at me a bit. I try to stay productive and positive through it all though.

Been almost a year since even that much.

What I learned is that loneliness is not about actually being alone, but not being with people you want to be with.
This is true of girls, friends, family, etc.

I can relate to that. I'm a bit of an introvert, but I still like socializing and being around people whose company I enjoy. It's not too often, but those times where it's just me and I have no one to talk to can be pretty disenchanting.

The last girl I had some kind of "relationship" with was a friend who I met because she was another friend's girlfriend. Even before they broke up she was putting out signals for me. Less than a week after they broke up she was putting the moves on me pretty aggressively (always calling me/talking to me on the phone all night, inviting me over and wearing nothing but a bath robe, sitting on my lap, etc.) and the thing isI wasn't even into her like that. But I was young and horny and she was the only girl that was interested in me at the time. So for a short while we did things together. The more it went on, the worse I felt. It didn't help that we were keeping it a secret from our friend group.

And also, she seemed like she wasn't in the best mental state at the time. I say that because amongst everything, one day, her and my best friend got into an argument over a dumb joke he made, and that lead to her hitting him. That pretty much ended their friendship and she got mad at me for trying to be peacekeeper. So that's where we stopped things. She would randomly reach out to me every now and then to see how I'm doing. The last time she reached out, it was to tell me that she "found someone else". So yeah. That wasn't the proudest period of my life.
