It's pretty amusing how some people are incensed by the very idea of a school deciding that a historical figure who flat out stated that he doesn't believe that Black people are equal to White people and thought that the best solution to our race problem was for Black people to leave the country and go live in colonies in Africa and South America so that our races don't have to live together isn't actually some bastion of anti-racist ideals after all.

Its already well known that they've turned on history.

At least no one seems to be arguing he was against Native Americans, so can't be against the reason for the change.

Lmfao, just because he freed them doesn't mean he liked them. Several years before he actually freed the Slaves, he constantly regarded the fallout from emancipation as the reason for not wanting to do it. Abolition was never the main goal of Lincoln leading up to and during the start of the Civil War. The preservation of the Union was. Lincoln is often portrayed as wanting to make all men equal, but that's not the case: growing up in slave-owning Kentucky, he always learned of blacks as inferior beings. If you watch "Lincoln", you'll see him speaking to his cabinet that blacks shouldn't be made EQUAL to whites, but to recognize that blacks are human beings, not property, and thus be treated with the same amount of dignity and decency. Abolishing slavery by way of the 13th Amendment was the product of this belief. While also being partially motivated to end the war.

As long History isn't being censored or warped by Extremist/Political agendas (False information, etc) then let them do what they need to do.
