Does it sound like this Republican wants to go EASY on this hunter for killing this kid?

52 y/o Kenneth Troy Heller was the Pennsylvania Hunter responsible for shooting and killing 18 y/o Jason Kutt on October 24 who was sitting in his car watching the SUNSET with his g/f when he was shot in the NECK!!

He claims to have mistaken him for a DEER during deer hunting season and is now charged with criminal homicide facing up to 20 years in the big house as the DA says it was a "hunting incident that went wrong"

Parademics were called and rushed him to St Lukes University Hospital where he died 2 days later as his gf said she saw a man in an orange vest and hunting clothes on run off.

People with permits are allowed to hunt in the state park as it was the LAST DAY of hunting season there where they could use specific firearms to hunt deer and small game.

Police looked at which vehicles came and left and announced 3 were seen.

Among those was a Champagne Chevy Blazer and appealed to anyone who knows of this car and the driver as it went UNSOLVED...

Until One of Heller's coworkers told a friend he drives the same type of car and enjoys hunting..and that friend was the one who contacted police and lead to his arrest

Heller agreed to plead guilty for recklessly endangering another person and failing to render aid

Republican Bucks County DA Matthew Weintraub said "Heller was going to have to live with this for the rest of his life" and noted Kutt was not the intended target.

He said "He never knew the man, they had no animus, this wasn't a, hey i'm going to try it out and see what it's like to be a killer moment for Mr. Heller. He has expressed remorse. Mr. Heller as a hunter, took aim and shot what he believed was an animal and believed to have killed what he shot. It was a tragically criminal misapprehension of what somebody thought they saw verses what they actually saw and what they shot at. He's not a bad man. He made a mistake who will live with this for the rest of his life but he should not be vilified"

Kutt's family are said to have been involved with the plea deal who said Kutt just graduated and loved video games and playing guitar and going out for walks with his gf

Does it sound like based on the statement by the DA that he wants to go EASY on this hunter?

Yeah, thats called negligence

Im calling bullshit. I bet he just wanted to scare them or something. Theres no way he was so far away he mistook a person for a deer and also had the accuracy to get a neck shot.

Why else would he run away after getting a shot in? Who fires a shot and then just leaves?

For real, black people will, knowingly or otherwise, carry a fake 20 dollar bill and get killed for it with no words of sympathy from Republican politicians, but this guy shoots, runs away, and hides, and suddenly hes being treated too harshly and the guilt is already too big a consequence.

There are two entirely different rules for people in the US lmao

So, this mother FUCKER was so remorseful and concerned, that when this murder became national freaking news that a hunter had killed someone in the same location and at the same day and time he was there, he didn't voluntarily report to a police station and say it could've been him that did it by accident?
Also, is that normal behavior for a hunter? To shoot what they think is a deer or whatever dead and then immediately "run off", rather than like...inspect the kill? Sure sounds abnormal!

Those charges are a fucking joke, not even manslaughter or negligent homicide?
And yes, the DA is already simping for the killer before it even goes to trial when he's supposed to be the one fighting for justice for the victim, not doing the defense attorney's job.
He should be removed from the case, but it sounds like this murderer is getting off w/ a slap on the wrist. Max 20 year sentence, but he'll get 3 years at most in the actual sentencing.

It's been a while since the story broke, but didn't the victim have a hat and "distinctive" clothing on?
Plus you know...he was next to another person, and presumably there were human screams of horror after the shot was fired. But nah...totally can understand how he thought it was a deer!

Alright as a kid I would go hunting with dad.

Being up at 5am... in the freezing cold... wanting to see a deer and gtfo was tough. Youd eventually start seeing things like quick movements out the corners of your eyes. It was just your brain playing tricks on you cause you so desperately want to kill the damn thing and go.

But this was during sunset. And after being out for so long your brain/eyes would take note of straight lines like that of a car. Hell, even the color and shine of a car would stick out too.

Did the Hunter have some sort of eye issue?

sad either way

Was it normal activity once you downed prey for you and your dad to immediately flee the scene and not return?
Or would you approach the kill and inspect it?

It's not like the hunter mistook a person for a deer, he mistook a fucking car for a deer. If your eyes are THAT bad and you still choose to go hunting, you deserve the maximum sentence for murder. And of course he just ran off. He was even apparently close enough that the g/f could see a man run off so it's not like he was really really far away and shooting at a spec in the distance.
